Jeez Roddy I dont know where that agression is coming from - maybe I came across wrongly.  What Im saying is that Joe is possibly a better captain potential than Gormley with the age difference.   I also think it would do Tyrone well to have a good town team winning a champsionship.  Theres probably more potential in Omagh for county players than there would be in say Carmen, Dromore or Clonoe no disresespect intended.  Im thinking of the county here not neccessarily individual clubs.  Carmen have been wonderful, at the top table time and time again, but they have failed time and time again outside Tyrone.  Why do you think this is the case.  Tyrone need a team that can challenge, and you need young legs.  Carmn dont have that - if they feel that they do then how come they ran out of steam on Sunday.  Perhaps Im wrong it looked to me like they were done.   How many times were Carmen beat by Cross or St Galls over the years when they won Tyrone - Was it not usually an unknown Antrim, fermanagh or Cavan team?

Forget about feuds - did anyone ever find love in the GAAboard.  Put up the dialogues, PMS and pics to prove it.

I think we have undoubtedly the best 4 champsionship teams left in the hunt for the O Neill Cup.  Wilst I believe Clonoe will come through on one side, I really fancy the winners of Dromore and Omagh to win the O Neill cup.  I also think theres more Ulster Club potential in the West of the county, and thats important when you need the standard bearers.  In light of Dooher retiring I believe Big Joe Mc Mahon will be the next captain of Tyrone and I feel that this might be best realised by Omagh winning the county championship and big Joe playing his pivotal part - so for that reason and with Tyrone footballs best interests in mind Im tipping Omagh to come through.  If this year proves anything then its the sad end of an era in Tyrone football, The mighty Dooher and the rest of the legends in Tyrone - gone. the irrespressible Carmen - gone/ done,  the Errigal Ciaran - surviving on the Canavan name for far too long - over. Long gone are the times when an old done team would win the O Neill cup scoring 5 times and ripping mens jerseys off them to get over the line.  It'll be football from here on in bies.

There is no doubt that Mc Guinness is the Nelson Mandela of Ireland, he has done the crime, time and primetime.  He is the embodiment of a new Ireland, battlescarred, but positive, damaged goods who makes up for hir role in the war by reaching out the hand further than the rest.  A giant of a man,  This move will see all the Southern prejudices to nationalists in the North, nakedly exposed.  Watch for the dirty game now within the press.   The difference between the Irish in the North and the Irish in the South was that for 90 years the Northern man felt rejected by the Irish, the Southern man felt rejected by the British.  Suddenly Norris looks credible and deliverable after all.

touch of exaggeration in the story but not in the medal haul.  One of the best never to fit into a Tyrone jersey.

Omagh bating Carmen in the 2011 O Neill Cup final.  Some of the crowd left with 5 to go thinking Carmen were home and hosed but 2 late goals from Mc Carron and Justy turned round what had been a comfortable 5 point defecit until then.

Roddy ye may wheel out the cavalry... ;)
Can anyone remember in O Neill Park when If I remember correctly Carmen tumbled out to a goal, when the full back took a free kick blasted it again the wanderin Big Oz's sizable arse and it rebounded into the empty goal. Some laugh for spectators.   :D  Prompted the saying the only way to score past Big Oz  is to kick the ball at his arse.

I remember calling a few years ago at a fellas house to pick him up for work.  He was AWOL.  By the third day the oul boy took me inside giving off about the cub.  He had shacked up with some woman and was in the da s  words a useless lazy good for nothin etc.  He ranted on about how hard he had worked so he could retire young with plenty of money, and thon lazy so and so of a son etc. - now this guy was 40 odd in a council house, but I left impressed anyway, and happened to mention to soemone about this daddy guy in a bar.  The laziest of the laziest hoors I was told spend all day in bed and all night gambling online.  never done a days work in his life..  Abnout a month later the doode was also arrested for drug supplying.. bad bluffing lieing hoor...

Hi Roddy.  My feeling is that each club would line out just 1 or optionally 2 teams, 1 playing as the thirds are at the moment, capable of handling the Brockaghs, Fintonas and Dungannons of this world - the other being their main men.  That panel isnt entirely closed but a 3rds player can only play so many games for the seniors in a season if he improves to that level. In this way the junior championship beomes more competitive, the perennial laggers like Tattyreagh etc realise the need to pull up their socks as they're getting bate week in week out.  The players are all playing for a decent championship trophy.   Finally Roddy  I have seen fat 40 year olds playing for your seniors never mind your reserves.

I wouldnt be so sure.  Im from a school of thought that the senior championship should be promoted and dont let the lads settle for anything less,  before long they'll realise they can still take pints, see a lass on a Saturday night, win a medal on a Sunday and whilst its not seniors they can still say they play for their local town. Id do away with reserves, and just have 3rds teams.
