Indeed, local to me.

So much still to do though.
Always wonder how much stronger the Orchard would be if we didn't have a GAA wasteland smack bang in the middle of the county.
Tandragee/Richhill/Markethill/Loughgall...
For a town it's size Portadown is pretty much a wasteland too ( double All star notwithstanding).

But then in 2024 the MP for the area who would have at least 10 constituents on the All Ireland panel only had one comment to pass post victory, not a congratulations but rather a complaint about flags being put up on Lurgan police station and the actions of the PSNI  driver in Camlough ( someone who did more for community relations in 10 seconds than our MP has done in 10 years).

Still a long long way to go "up North".

Only a Tyrone man  would think of something like that

Seems like the tap is always running in Healy Park , judging  by the  constant state of the pitch.

If you win the toss always play with the tide in the first half at Healey Park

Quote from: Rossfan on December 03, 2025, 11:37:53 AMIf the Brits had dumped South Down, South Armagh, large parts of Fermanagh and Tyrone and Derry City they and the Unionists would have got themselves a tiny little totally non viable Statelet for all time.

Fixed that for you!

Quote from: gallsman on August 08, 2025, 11:03:19 AMPersonalised plates are unquestionably and exclusively for complete dickheads. Zero exceptions.

If you buy one for yourself, you're a dickhead.

If someone else bought you one, both of you are dickheads.

This is known.

😁

I don't know a single Tyrone or South Derry man who doesn't have one

Would never dip for one myself.

I've seen a few Y3S L4D or variations about, raises a smile

I have seen the YE5 LAD driving about too. Couldn't pay me to drive in that.

No you haven't.
YE 5 LAD is not a valid format.

YE 51 ADS  maybe, or some other bastardised plate maybe.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on August 07, 2025, 09:11:39 PMNo car problems but looking to get personalised plates for her as a birthday present

I seen one that I liked and it was in a site like plates for less or some and the dvla site had same plate £100 dearer?

Are  benefits better with using dvla online than other websites ?

Hi MR2 ( nice plate....£20 grand all day long)!

If you want a specific plate you are best contacting DVLA directly.

If it's a serious number they'll put it in their live auction for you.
If it's not so valuable it's likely to go in their online auction.

If you're not that fussy pick an unusual number.
Two digits plus initials nearly always significantly cheaper that one digits.
I got 12 plus my initials for 2 and a half including all the fees.
11 is always really expensive.
Avoid any combination with repeated 8 in it. The Chinese love these and bid them to stupid money.

Anything with name in it will be mad money.
I looked at getting someone a present to celebrate last year, their initials and then 24 SAM and it was mad money.

Kerry have won 4 of the last 5 Championship meetings between the sides, but don't let facts get in the way of anything.

Anyone who doesn't know the difference between site and sight cannot be taken seriously.

Can't believe I forgot Jimmy Barry.
Would I be right in saying he won football and hurling All Ireland's?

Also I had a vague idea Sean O'Neill had a relative played for Down. Didn't know it was a brother.

The Connie Murphy one is a quiz question I'll use at some point. Brilliant stat.

To he person who raised the O'Sullivans great call.

GAA Discussion / The O'Sheas versus the O'Neills
June 26, 2025, 10:26:19 AM
Let me start by saying...do not take seriously, just a wee bit of fun.

To take my mind off the upcoming 1/4 final I started thinking about how many great players there were called O'Shea and if any other surname could compete.
The only other name I could come up with was ONeill. If anyone has another feel absolutely free to say so. THIS IS JUST FOR A BIT OF CRACK.

For the O'Sheas I have ( in no order)

Paudi ( for youngsters..a legend)
Jack ( for youngsters, as good a midfielder as ever put on a pair of boots)
Darragh
Marc
Thomas
Seanie
Aidan

Who have I missed?
Older Kerry fans...please step up!

For the O'Neills, again no order than a pure Armagh bias!

Rian
Oisin
Gareth
Stephen
Sean ( for benefit of youngsters on GAA team of century...wobbler can tell you more) My 90 year old dad described him as " take the best of Clifford, Matt Connor, Linden and  that would be him)
Dr. Pat ( again for youngsters a key part of Heffos brilliant Dublin team of the seventies).

So who have I missed?
Is there an O'Neill or an O'Shea who played on an All Ireland winning club team?

Is there another surname that could be added. You'd think Murphy would be a cert. but after Michael and Vinny ( Dublin) I'm struggling.

Over to you.

Is anyone genuinely surprised?

How many more have to die?

Anyone care to predict the combined winning margin.

I'm going for 35 points.

Quote from: Easttyrone23 on June 16, 2025, 06:39:30 AMThe all Ireland championship hasn't even reached the quarter final stage yet and every team have lost at least one game.
I think that is what makes it so good this year. Dublin Kerry Armagh Donegal all will have something to prove. It's a pity that the quarter draw isn't been done same time as the prelims.

Good idea in principle but not feasible. Too many fixtures not permissable that you have to wait for the prelims to be Iver before you make the quarter final draw.
