Kerry were most definetly fired up for this game and no wonder. It reminded me of a certain league game when Armagh played Tyrone in Omagh in 2003. A lot of hatred and bile around that day. I remember well Sean Kavanagh and Philip Jordan jumping up on the fence after the game and shaking their fists at the crowd in exuberance after their win.. And to be fair Im sure Armagh teams have reacted in similar fashion at times. Kerry had a mountain of pent -up frustration
1  The huge media questioning of Kerry's ability to beat teams in a tight finish . Armagh 02 Tyrone 03 Tyrone 05 tyrone 08 dublin 11.
2  Lack of balls when it mattered.
3 The fall out from the Derrytresk affair
4 Allegedly looking segregation at the Crokes Cross match.
5 Articles like Brolly's picking on certain Kerry individuals calling them chokers
When all this is taking into consideration ,the celebrations after the match nearly seemed mild. As for Kerry having had their day and wont go further ,seems to me like some posters are on a different planet. They are for me as a northerner, a fabulous team who play the game with great style. I have great admiration for them as I had for Tyrone in the last decade. I am so looking forward to a possible clash between Kerry and Donegal.

This did not happen. Replace the two players mentioned with a young Pascal McConnell and you may be somewhere near the truth. In short, quit talking brown.
It did happen  right in front of me   on the 50 yd line at the terrace side. i was standing watching Philip jordan and i know him very well . I would also assume, Mr moortown spuds, It was a group of supporters around me who he was clenching his fist to. As a matter of fact I slag him about it .  And when Mr spuds when you are a close to it as I was start getting your facts right. Talking Brown works both ways.

You are very wrong there applemad - it was Packie who was going a bit nuts not Philly Jordan. I'll be sure to ask Philly the next time I see him which Clonmore man slags him about 2003 in Omagh for something he didn't do!

Sorry Hardy but I disagree . Banty's team beat Kildare for a number of reasons. Firstly they had the advantage of coming under the radar, It was the perfect game for Banty . He could motivate his players . All the lads selected to play against KIldare were loyal to the system and bought into what Banty had to offer. It was Banty and Martin McElkennon that gave Meath the guidance to take on the dubs in this leinster final. The team was all pulling in the one direction . A few were absent. Those absentees were not condusive to the well being of the team. Two of them are back on Sunday I hope Meath do well . I will be there and I am really looking forward to it. Nows the time for some of these guys to put up or shut up

Meath won because the team meath fielded on Sunday were 100%behind Banty and the management. The dissenters were either injured or of the panel. For Meath its now onwards and upwards and good luck to them.
Is that a dig at Mc Geeneys management, Hardy and the dissenting Meath folk, or a totally genuine belief that Banty and the management was the key factor in Meath V Kildare Leinster semi final.  The 3rd is surely the least likely from an assumedly sensible man.....

No rrhf, It isnt a dig at anyone. I do know that 4/5 players were making life unbearable for Banty and were anti him from early days. Mr me John Evans will undoubtedly be held as the man who changed all, but I take my hat of to Banty and his background team. Well done. Meath are a proud county and this last few years hasnt been kind to them. They came North a good few years ago and played at the opening of our pitch . Along with Sean Boylan they were excellent ambassadors for the Royal county. Ever since that I have had a soft spot for them. I will travel to Dublin to see them in the final. Its not a dig at Hardy or any other Meath supporters. I do think though that a few around Navan might not have been so happy.

QuoteRoscommon with a wind advantage reeled us in .After the goal went in at the start of the second half I knew that it was curtains. Armagh were coming from a high place after their performance against Tyrone .Roscommon from and equally low one . They couldn't be much worse than that. We were set up lovely.

The wind wasn't strong and wasn't a major factor in this game. Attitude was wrong to be sure, but the Roscommon gaol was 33 mins before the end of the game, plenty of time to battle it out if the will was there.

I have to say Armaghniac I was behind the goal at the scoreboard end and it did get up quite a bit .  Dont dispute your attitude point though. The goal was crucial . I know there was quite a bit of time left but you could see the heads drop. Kilbride was threatening and that goal lifted Roscommon greatly.

Firstly well done  to Roscommon. I predicted this during the week. Why were people so quick to write their obituary. This Roscommon team have reached the last two Connaught finals winning one and possibly should have won the other but for the conditions.

They reached the u-21 all-Ireland final and were only beaten in the last ten minutes. Minor titles as well beat Armagh in Croke pk last year in extra time. Yes they had a terrible day against Galway but that was not a true reflection. Armagh fell for it hook line and after a nonplussed first half ,sinker. Roscommon with a wind advantage reeled us in .After the goal went in at the start of the second half I knew that it was curtains.
Armagh were coming from a high place after their performance against Tyrone .Roscommon from and equally low one . They couldnt be much worse than that. We were set up lovely. The qualifiers is all about mental strength, raising ur game etc. Roscommon blasted us in those stakes. Fair play to them .no complaints on that front and truth be told could have won by far more.

The players looked clueless when the shit hit the fan and so to the manager(s). Seanen Kilbride gave Brendy a torrid time. The changes were not made.

Armagh football has a lot of soul searching to do . At least three Cross players refused to take their place in the squad. One, if I am right, had to be persuaded to join the panel after Cross's All-Ireland success.
Due to their success Armagh has only had their squad together for six to eight weeks before championship.
This is not Cross's fault good luck to them but there are problems obviously between part of the management team and certain Cross players .
Any manager coming in will face this problem as well if Cross continue to be as successful .
Tony mac will not leave Cross as they search for that historic three in a row and who could blame him. Its all up in the air.

Just a side note here . Hyde Pk has a very run down look about it. The concrete seats in front of the main stand, broken glass in the stand all around where I was sitting  Farmyard gates at the side of the field. Needs a few pound spent on it badly. Anyway good luck Roscommon in your next round.

In my opinion, it is an excellent idea.

It should make playing the dubs in the league an experience for all fans, not only dulin fans. I also think it will help lift the profile of the league with all the promotion that will be done. Crowds of around 30000 would be a huge achievement.

It also is an excellent avenue for gilroy to blood some new talent, in a much more realistic situation. All in all the DCB and the team should really benefit.

I just hope all the dubs fans travel to the athletic grounds (or whatever it may be called then) for the game against Armagh. Should be a great game.
