The greatest day in our history may only be a fortnight away. Beat Utd 1-0 or by 2 clear goals and we top the group. Equal what Moscow do and we're through.
You know permutations.

All them red top tabloids are absolute pure shite!. I have to say that I never bought a red top tabloid ever.

I used to buy the Beano when I was small. Same thing really.......

Except for page 3.... ;)

Really is a shit paper.  Is it wrong for me to judge the people that buy this paper?
Yes. They are usually the products of a society that failed them. Without mounting the high horse here and spouting aload of shitology, i just want to say most of their readers wouldn't have chose the life they were given or inherited.
Bollocks to that. Iv seen university educated, affluent, gaa supporters reading it. Judge them surely, idiots!

Them St Gall\'s boys will be thirsty on Sunday night. Unless it\'s a draw. No drink policy was strictly imposed and adhered to during the hurling and football runs.

You know drink bans.

i wonder what\'s the odds on Liverpool getting Celtic or Everton in the next round of the Europa League?

Celtic are out aren\'t they?

I think they have a very slim chance, need to win their last 2 games and rely on a load of other results to go their way. They should never have left themselves in such a bad position!

Any of you Liverpool heads understand what Rafas doing with Aquilani? Another 1 min last night. I know the fellas coming back from an injury but hes been in the squad for several weeks now without getting much gametime. Surely u won't get him match fit unless  you give him match time

Well there are maybe a couple of things involved. First of all, he was bought as a long term investment not as a quick fix and we all know how many quality players who were excellent in their home country struggle to adapt to the Premier League. I think he is just being cautious and wants to gradually ease him in (very gradual) to ensure his transition to the Premier League is as smooth as possible and that he doesn't take any risks whatsoever that may harm him.

As well as this, I think Rafa is struggling with dropping Lucas. He has been decent overall this season, a huge improvement on last season thats for sure and I'm sure Rafa is thinking that dropping him right now when he's playing well would be such a blow to his confidence. I think Mascherano should at this stage be in the running for being dropped equally but Rafa is not going to want to make Masch restless and have him angling for an all too easy move away in January.

Both of these things are causing him to be over-cautious I think. If it was up to me I'd have him straight in and drop Lucas, then again I'm not the manager.

All very true points, although its one thing easing him in and complete other thing just not playing him. Torres would have come from a background where a lot of people thought he would find the Prem tough but he played most weeks.

Think Masch is already angling for that move away...

Actually if we remember correctly, Benitez received a lot of criticism at the time for being alittle cautious with Torres as he sat on the bench for a good few games.

Sad f**ker I am I looked it up, Torres started 7 of Liverpools first 8 league games in his first season so its hardly the same. Aquilani looked pretty decent the one night I saw him (Arsenal??), I guess time will tell.

Fair enough its definitely not the same but I definitely remember Torres sitting on the bench a few times or coming on with 15-20 mins to go and Benitez getting a lot of stick for it.

Poor effort.

I know. Posting pictures to mock another side going out of Europe. Imagine that.

Nothing to do with it, wax merely commenting on how shit an effort it was.

I thought it had something to do with the 5 European cups  Liverpool have won??

Lol

And whatever about Gerrard's comment, it's self evident. You usually get what you deserve, and Liverpool got theirs.

To the silver lining, and various strings to be clutched, at least if the injuries clear up, there'll be a good chance of a run for fourth. Sad that the targets are so low in November, but you have to be realistic.

Do you know this may sound crazy to some peopel, and our own Rafa on here, but I have a stranger feeling that there will be something silly going to happen.  I want to categorically state that at this moment Liverpool will not win the PL as things stand.  But....there are only 5 points between 3rd placed and Liverpool.  City and Spurs will drop points and if Liverpool can get their act together there is ground that can be retrieved.  If they can pull in Ruud van Horsey Mouth in a January free and get the wonded back on track, with a few good results they can make up a lot of ground.  17 points out of the 21 points available before the end of the year and I think that would leave Liverpool sitting much better.  That allows for 2 draws against Arsenal and Villa but it would be amazing if they could actually win those especially the home one against the Gunners.  It is a big ask but a win over the Bitters at the weekend would be a great start.

I admire your optimism!

But I do think you're right. If (and who knows) the injuries clear up I think we should eventually find some form. We really need a big performance against Everton.

Good pictures EC.  Seems like Stevie G isn't the player he was, time seems to be catching up with him.

Nothing post.

on a more serious note while Minder thinks about Cantona, why did Benitez make the subs he did?
Specifcally taking off N'Gog? They already knew the score from florence so goal diff would have made a big diff shoudl Lyon get the draw they were threatening. Why is £20m now fit aqualiani not being played?

Would goal differance have mattered? I can't be arsed checking, but regardless if Liverpoll had've won 6-0, they still would've only needed a 3-0 win over the Violas to supercede their earlier result.

Matters f**k all now though.

If Fiorentina had have drawn and Liverpool could have beaten their goal difference (I thought they would have needed 6 last night but the commentator said 4) then a 2-0 win in Anfield against Fiorentina would have been enough. But as you say, matters f**k all now.

With Fiorentina's results aside, I actually think we can be very disappointed with Liverpools performance last night. Like most games they started well but couldn't sustain that for the whole match and for me they did not create enough chances against, it must be said, one of the poorest teams in the competition. Kuyt was terrible yet again, if it wasn't for our injury crisis he should be dropped straight away (but of course he won't be). We had to suffer a lot of frustration with Kuyt before he came good last season but he looks like he's showing the form of old at the minute and I for one am not prepared to sit through that sort of rubbish again.

I can't have Lucas and Mascherano playing in central midfield together, its pure death. Thats no slight on Lucas who has gone up in my estimation this season and for me on this seasons form could warrant a start ahead of Mascherano but they are far too similar to play together, it has to be changed.

As Gerard said, you usually get what you deserve in football and we don't deserve to be in the second round of the Champions League. Need to take it on the chin now and show some character to bounce back and salvage something out of this disasterous year.

N'gog is showing real promise and is one of the only pluses that can be taken out of the last few weeks.

Unless you cook them before she sees them she'll know because its very easy to tell when something has been defrosted in the microwave, they'll be luke warm and parts may have turned a darker colour. It is perfectly safe though if then cooked thoroughly afterwards.

I face the problem of forgetting to leave stuff out to defrost almost everyday.
