Conlons biggest problem is, is he has no power,  yes he might throw loads of punches, but he can't and hasn't hurt anyone. That will score you points in amateur boxing but in professional boxing it will limit you. He should forget about a comeback and concentrate on promoting or managing.

You can't go compubox stats, otherwise there would be no call for judges,  just go to compubox to see who landed the most punches.
It was a really close fight, I don't believe in draws in boxing, there has to be a winner and for me Katie was the cleaner sharper fighter who just edged it. A great fight and fair play to two warriors who gave it their all.

Hard not to be swayed towards Serrano there, with all the production, commentary, crowd all in her favour,  but if you were to watch the fight back with no volume,  Katie had more cleaner shots and just about won it in my opinion. Plus the point deduction was crazy.

Depends on what you're willing to spend. If you're only getting back into running I'd go for comfort over speed. Something like the new New Balance 1080v 14.  Cost about £160, good if you have a broad foot also.

A lot of the newer comedies wouldn't be great,  hard to beat the older ones.

The Office
Peep show
IT Crowd

Liked 2point4 children and Men behaving badly.
A relatively new one I binge watched was 2 doors down. Thought it was very funny. Will give it another go again.

I would say with a 1:51 half marathon, 3:40 would be a good target.
I was 1:46 half and got 3:44 full, with a very disjointed training block.  A good training plan and it's very achievable

Quote from: Tony Baloney on July 30, 2024, 02:55:10 PMWhat's the odds on Wiffen's swim being shown on the BBC as those RTE c***ts have it blocked. Any other options if not shown?

On my TV, it's blocked on RTE channel 55. But if I go up channel 813 RTE, it's not blocked.

Went to physio,  pinpointed the pain was actually just right of centre on the knee. A case of patellar tendinitis,  physio reckons it's very manageable for me. Ice it every evening, it's taped up now and new pair of shoes got. Out for run in morning to see how it goes, swelling gone, so hopefully goes ok.

Quote from: imtommygunn on April 15, 2024, 09:14:09 AMI don't think IT band syndrome would cause swelling - it would cause you the pain right enough. Just to double check - what's the status of your shoes?

Strengthening would be more round your glute med so the band stuff MR says there would help.

Marathon is the June bank holiday weekend.  When I started out on my run yesterday, it did go through my head that my runners were done. Would this be part of the problem??

Depending on the shoe, 400 miles is plenty and then change, keep them for farting about but for benefit change them ..

June should (depending on actual injury) give ya plenty of time, 5 weeks of slow low mileage running while getting over the injury and few long runs beforehand!

Was planning on changing shoes this week as would have been on 350/400 miles on them, but yesterday was first time I noticed they felt different.  That's good to hear that (if it's this injury) that I can do some running on it. I was thinking maybe it's a 6 week rest from running, which would be a disaster for the marathon. Cheers men. See what physio says tomorrow night.

9 weeks into marathon training, slight niggle on outside of knee for about a week. Went for long run yesterday and it had to be cut short as knee became too sore and swelled up and very sore after it.  Quick google of symptoms would have me believe I have IT band syndrome, with a 6 week recovery time,  physio tomorrow night,  but just wondering does anyone have any experience of this and will it take long to shift it?

Quote from: Mourne Red on April 11, 2024, 09:40:18 PMKelleher has had a nightmare tonight

Mad singling out the keeper when those in front of him stunk the place out. Liverpool fans must realise tonight what it's like to be a Utd fan atm, the lack of effort from a good half dozen of them was shocking
Wouldn't say its mad given that his two errors had a big say in the outcome.Even if he's stronger for the third goal 2-0 seems alot easier to turnaround than 3-0.

There was a deflection on the last shot that probably made Kelleher spill it.
