I neither agree or disagree with you here. Im not sure of the correct answer here or how Antrim/a club disapline a player who is disaplined through the correct manner and brought before the courts and punished accordingly.

I noticed you have 14 posts and 10 of them are directly linked to this case though. Im not sure venting your frustration in a forum really achieves anything. Possibly airing your concerns with secretart/county rep and bringing it to attention at a higher level instead of on here?

Antrim or the GAA itself would have to give a response.

It was yourself in a previous post that stated it's not a good move for Antrim GAA which I was replying to.

In terms of a role model for younger players..
What about club?

He is no role model for any of the kids I coach. His discipline on the pitch in the past has shown that also.

What do you do in a case like that though?
Ban from playing County?

It ends with him not playing for the county. There is a higher profile when playing for you county. Strip that from him. He has shown absolutely no remorse for his actions to date and it's a disgrace that he is pulling on a county jersey.

If he's pleaded guilty then it's not a good move by Antrim GAA

See in today's Irish News Kavan Keenan has pled guilty to his various offences, will he see a custodial sentence ?

I hope so. Horrendous what he did and makes even more hard to take that he was poster boy for the county.

On the point of how the Gaa hand it. It was raised numerous times with Antrim Gaa top brass that it was causing great distress to the family that kavan keenan was being used as the pin up boy for their Facebook posts but yet they continue to use him. Absolutely disgusting from Antrim GAA IMO

I think that was a very simple fix for the County and a bit of an own goal. Easily done not to use him in any of the promo stuff and let things play out quietly while respecting the victim in this.

I have wasted my lunch break trawing back through Antrim GAA Facebook and got as far back as early February.

In this time there are approximately 50 posts around Antrim men's senior football games, as well as others over and above, and he appears in 1 of them alongside a team sheet.

Things you have to do to sort out the facts from the illusions.

He was the model for the new top then they removed his photos.

Then used it again for a team sheet picture. That's worse imo as they knew the seriousness of his crime at the time but thought the family might forget ?

He's guilty. End of story and end of debate. No matter what high profile GAA solicitor he or somebody else are paying. He left a young mother for dead on the side of the road.

Let's not butter it up or dress it up to be something it's not.

Let's stop making kavan Keenan out to be the victim  here. The victim in all this is the lady in her 30s he left for dead on the side of the road .

Keenan is a coward who would have got away with it if witnesses hadn't came across him.

Time for Antrim to source both hurling and football managers from within the county. Stop the men coming in with no passion for the county and collection the brown envelope at the end of each month. We need passionate Antrim men involved with both codes at the top. Yes they need their expenses of some incentive to take the team but ultimately not money driven. It happens at club level too and does my head in. Rant over

Shame on Antrim GAA for choosing to play a player knowing he has been charged with a hit and run in Martinstown end of October last year. Where is the integrity and what example are they setting to the youth coming behind.
