Reading college results during the week think 3 of the four Harty semifinals are tipp schools and see the Rugby school in Roscrea gave Mountrath a bad beating in the B championship 3 years ago Cistersians hired Former Tipp all ireland winner Tommy Dunne as full time coach and mow they are seeing the fruits of their labour  god forbid that any School in Laois would do something similar  this is part of the reason we play in Joe Mac tournament and Tipp win all irelands

Can't believe what I'm seeing on the fixturw list Mountmellick conceeding a under 20 championship match if our second biggest town cannot fulfill a championship fixture things have reached a all time low in the County (hope there was a genuine reason for the concession)

Went to Croker 1968 Leinster final full of belief got a bad beating from a excellent Longford team more downs than ups it's the hope that kills us winning first All Ireland minor football final brilliant  hurlers in the eighties gave us some great days beating wexford in semi final lives long in the memory ,Now we are at a all time low in both codes and no light at the end of the tunnel our county board accepts our position and could not care less most of the young people in the County follow Man United Liverpool and so on and spend lots of Sunday afternoons in the pubs wearing there preferred Soccer Jerseys ams cheering on there favourites teams it's so sad

Minor finsl congrats to Crettyyard/Spimk nice to see underdog winning Portlaoise quiet defensive poor reflection on town with the pick it Has to be trying to keep the score down is there nobody in the Town to get them young players to express themselves like Portlaoise used to do god be with the days of Prendergast the Brownes Liam Scully the McNultys and all of them great forwards

County boards job is to promote hurling and football in the county and there is nothing to stop them from bringing all clubs to a meeting and thrash out all the issues and get the clubs perspective on the state of Gaa in the county including the amount clubs masquerading as senior teams but have very little hope of anyhelp from that quarter

Reading on Kilkenny live that Kilkenny Gaa and St Kierans college are going in joint venture to provide a full size astro turf pitch on the college ground we cannot get young lads in Portlaoise schools to take up the game it's no wonder hurling is at such a low ebb in the county

After seeing 3 championship matches at the weekend standard terrible like practice matches no wonder Kildare hammered us in Joe mc Donagh  county players completely anonymous with the exception of Cha who was brilliant from center back for Ballinakill
On a side note it's nearly time matches played on smaller club grounds maybe get a bit of atmosphere and more exciting games no aosphere at all in  omoore park

Just after reading a piece from Waterford gaa Chairman he stated that Waterford had dropped the ball at underage level for a lot of years until those with the interest of Waterford hurling was brought to the table we can all mow see the results . I WONDER is there anyone on our fair county capable of picking up the ball or will we continue as is
All we can do is live in hope

You are dead right co board will not take your opinions into account and it's imperative that the clubs vote for a chairman that  give a toss about the state of Gaa both hurling and football in the county not vote for the idiot that thinks it's his turn next

County board knows the outrage will only last a week all they have to do is keep there heads down for the week and it will return to business as usual clubs have to take some responsibility for the state of hurling and football in the county my own club for instance hire a outside manager ever year we all have to do massive fundraising to pay these fly by mights and when a question is asked about this we are told that is what the players want meanwhile our underage players are Benn coached by willing but limited parents I assume the same practice goes on in lots of other clubs  I do depair I'm 67 years of age I I'm losing hope perhaps that's a good thing because it's hope that's killing me
