Gortin v Pomeroy - Pomeroy by 2.. then get both to Division 2
Errigal III V Derrytresk - Belongs to the Go games discussion above
Killyclogher v Loughmacrory - Potential draw written over it.. KC to beat the champions elect by 1
Dungannon v Trillick - Game of the weekend - Trillick by 2
Omagh v Derrylaughan - Paddy Hunter to kick 1-14
Dromore v Edendork - Dromore by 4
Carrickmore v Moortown - Carmen by 3
Galbally v Donaghmore - The Tories to edge their entitled neighbours by 1
Beragh v Drumquin - BRK by 1

Carrickmore were only too happy to give Gortin the 2 points last game of the league. Are you sure you want them back in division 2  :-X

Quote from: PastThePost on August 29, 2025, 04:45:11 PMNot quite sure why OSEs are putting posts on social media re their 'comeback' v Donaghmore, sometimes you're just best saying nothing...

They also felt the need to give Moortown the win on Wednesday night. Result decided before throw in. Sore on the plunketts who should have went ahead of them with their win over derrylaughan.

Moortown wedding abroad. Pomeroy agreed to change it for them.

Devenney shouldn't be let near a whistle. Single handedly dragged Carmen back into the game when it was as good as over. Two sending offs out of nowhere and countless frees!

Not part of the 26 you're free to play for club. Right thing to do in my opinion. Some point sitting on the bench for Tyrone and getting no game time. Let the lads play

That's all well and good but what about the 6 men on the bench who were part of the 26 and didn't get any game time. Shouldn't they be allowed to play? Makes a mockery of the starred fixtures especially when it benefits one club and not the other.

Michael O'Neill playing for Ardboe. Hardly any point in starred games.

How would Dungannon be an better option. Plunkett park is fully terraced with a covered stand, state of the art changing rooms and the surfaces in great condition since Dimac took over maintenance over a year ago. There's severe wind and rain forecast for the whole of the country not just Pomeroy.

You maybe correct about all you say about Pomeroy but never any atmosphere there. Never!

Always a game of 2 halves with the howling gale.

O'Neill park has the best atmosphere in Tyrone, bar none.

So your judging a venues capability of hosting a game based on atmosphere. Tyrone may never play in Healy park again if that's the case. A big crowd in any small venue will create an atmosphere.

Clonoe drop their first point of the season after a low scoring 0-7 to 1-4 draw away to Pomeroy.
The score at h/t was 0-3 to Clonoe.
Didn't seem to be an evening for high scoring encounters overall with the weather conditions.
The Fianna only scored 0-5 away to Killyclogher and Clarke's 0-9 away to Trillick.

Poor game at Plunkett Park tonight, but the conditions were awful. Probably a fair result although we scored a goal late on to go one up and clonoe hit an equaliser 4 mins into injury time. We've a fair few men to come back in, Frank burns, brendy burns, Hugh pat and Lorcan Kilpatrick, so would be hopeful of a championship run. It looked like clonoe were at full strength.

Santa's magical forest in Pomeroy. Tickets not released but it does sell out in a matter of days.

On another subject (lets change focus)

i see Eglish u16s claimed the Grade2 league and championship double at a canter last nite
how was this allowed to happen..its a disgrace that a team that won the Ulster Og Sport u15 last year were allowed to drop into grade 2 and a bigger disappointment that the Eglish club allowed/wanted it to happen

Donaghmore dropping into Grade2 u14s is another example

they did it at minor a few years ago also

,

Surely the CCC need to stop this sort of stuff happening

These types of things will be to the clubs detriment in the long run when they have to go to the well to win tight games won't always be like that for them
Can any of you 2 headers tell me how Donaghmores division 4 under 14 team done last year which is this years a team. That club aspires to play at div 1 at all levels and certainly aren't dropping down to win grade 2 titles, if they are dropping down it is in the interests of their footballers who are deemed not to be at grade 1 level at this stage. Definitely not about title winning. They field 2 teams and often have no subs which weaken their grade 1 challenges. They are very much about giving lads as much football at their level that they can. Perhaps your own clubs could adopt that approach.

your justification doesnt stand up
I have watched Donaghmore teams at u10 and above tournaments this past 2-3 years and they are well capable of fielding at grade1 u14 this year
playing a young team at grade 4 a year before their time if anything will make them a better side the following year
i work with a Donaghmore man who shares my view and disagrees with the clubs decision

we see too many examples of this over the years

the ease of Eglishs victories in grade 2 are testament to the fact they shouldve been in G1

There are many justified examples of teams dropping down such as Coalisland Fianna into G3 this year where they were competitive and didnt steamroll all in front of them as some predicted

"perhaps your own clubs should do the same"
i can assure you my club are playing at a level which will test them to the full and probably wont win any silverware

Eglish were much too strong for div 2 but did only beat my own club pomeroy in the championship semi final by 3 last week. We were right in contention to win until our full back got sent off. In saying that they beat us well in the league semi.

Genuinely never seen worse behaviour from a set of fans in all my years. On our way out of the ground yesterday ever other set of Armagh 'fans' felt the need to hurl abuse at us. I could take it if it was an isolated incident but unfortunately it wasn't. Grown men who weren't even intoxicated felt the need to remind us of the scoreline, everybody hated Tyrone etc etc.

It is embarrassing but it's hardly the worst behaviour from fans you've ever seen. Let's be honest about it

Now I know I can't tar all Armagh fans with the same brush but it was honestly the worst behaviour I seen in all my days. The amount of intoxicated men and women before the game even started was scary. Armagh fans with Kerry headbands, wagging their flags and fist pumping at every Kerry score was embarrassing.

Pomeroy had a good win at weekend. Have their players left for America yet?

Yes all gone. Good win especially down in Derrylaughan. Really surprised at how poor they were.
