Brilliant performace - McNulty was excellent in his last spell with Laois and appears to be better now and more tactically adept and dynamic.

Great performances today by Roche, Kelly, Fingleton, Timmons, both midfield, Evan, Byrne, Barry and more. I'm delighted to see the new and fresh talent in Laois making a great, positive contribution.

It looks very positive for Laois - in a final now and loads of progress this year. I really hope Justin McNulty stays for at least 3 years and more. I've nothing against Billy Sheehan but we needed a very good all-round manager at the helm and Mcnulty is perfect in that regard.

We saw the progress and momentum that Sugrue was showing some years back - we need that consistency and momentum in Laois to bring us back to being competitive in a Division 1 - 3 context.

Great football being played out there, a joy to see. We showed great character to battle back after some poor luck with the timing of their goal. Proud of the team 1000%.

I wasn't a fan first time round

People like you ran him out of the job, son. He was making serious progress. Was the football attractive? No, not particularily. Were we competitive? Yes. Teams like Laois have to make it ugly to be competitive. The likes of Sheehan going man on man tactics with Dublin earlier this year was madness.

I'm shocked that McNulty wants the job but fair play to him. Let's get back to being somewhat competitive and get out of Div 4. He's a likable manager, hopefully lads will be encouraged to join up with the panel.

6 point away win against the favourites to win the division. It was a very solid performance and great foundation to work on. Don't forget where we are in 2023. This isn't 2003.

I'm delighted with that performance, for the first proper match of the year. Sure, stuff to work on and we'll be well off any team in the first 2 divisions but we're trying hard and we have to be realistic.

Getting promoted and haveing a decent run in the Tailteann would be a very good, positive year. Have to be realistic.

Brilliant player - prob my favourite memory of Ross playing, is vs Kildare in the Leinster Final of '03. Always a great person to have around the setup. Fantastic attitude and a very bright mind in Laois GAA. Certainly not the last we'll see of Ross - he'll do well in whatever he decides to do from here, be it coaching or otherwise. He also impressed me as a commentator / pundit on RTE so I wouldn't be surprised if he takes up more of those roles. That's for all the service and memories Ross and best of luck in your future endeavors 

Good performace today. I live near Navan so I said I'd have a look. Was decently impressed. Evan O C the top performer. It's a pity that we don't have everybody involved, but once the 15 lads on the pitch try their best for the jersey, that's as much as I want to see to be honest. And while we're at it - we're not exactly a sleeping giant are we? 0 all irelands and 1 leinster in the last many many years. I think we have to temper our expectations a bit. When were we last a good side in the top tier? 20 years ago. Some lads from counties such as Laois have to work outside the county. It's not exclusive to Laois that lads aren't committing. But I think a discussion about the hours it takes to train with a county side is one for another day.

Go with what we have and the lads who want to be there deserve our support. Good showing today. I see us getting out of Div 4 as we have enough talent to do that. Beyond that, probably a short summer but when is it not, really. Once we show passion for the jersey, I'm going to support that.

Panay..? I haven't a clue what it is either.

I thought their peno near the end was very soft - didn't look a foot block to me, their man just kicked it off Piggott and didn't seem to go near his foot. That really took the comfort out of the game, when we were in control of seeing out the game. In any event, 2 massive points gained. We might need 1 or 2 more depending on other results, but to be 1 point off top spot and 3 points off relegation at this point is going very well indeed, in a tough, evenly matched league. Would be content if we maintained Div 2 status.

A lot of ppl saying we're not ready for Division 1, but put it this way : if we do happen to get promotoed (and u never know - 3x 50/50 games left in my opinion), we'll be safe in the top tier of the championship for at least 3 more years (div 2 this year, div 1 next year and then perhaps div 2 year after that). Also, division 1 football would bring this team on leaps and bounds, even if we get harsh lessons along the way. Top tier football sharpens a team. Whereas if we maintain Div 2 status this year, we could be in Div 2 next year with teams like Cork, Mayo, Meath, etc -a real tough division. So let's try to push on and get promotion, in a league that's there for the taking. The only way to improve in any sport is to take on people who are better than you.

Regarding the support - I think it will come good. Support last couple of years has been good. I think a lot of people were disheartened seeing Sugrue go, as well as the Kingstons and Attride. Not many people had hope for us this year and the buzz was very low around the place regarding our chances in 2020. But I think if we continue to see performances like we have done, the crowd will return again. Like Sugrue said, you have to give people a reason to want to show up and support, and I feel like we'll have the good support from 2018/2019 back for 2020 shortly.

Fantastic display, real fighting spirit shown. Well set up, too. Lacking that bit of quality in some areas but it's not for lack of trying. Seems to be great spirit in the group.

Were you in Roscommon? I was. He looked off the pace. He lives in England and is 33.  He hasn't played inter county in years. I'm just commenting on what I saw.

In fairness he is only back from a long injury layoff, give him a few games before we can properly judge.

Finally someone talking a bit of sense. It's january ffs and the other lads are writing him off already. He's trying his best for the county and only just back - the guy has a great history and huge potential to be a big part of our year in summer, and this joker is saying that he doesn't have the build or pace to be a modern footballer. As if we have a team of Diarmud Connolly's. Cahir deserves far far more respect than to be written off completely based on 20 mins of League football in Roscommon in January.

Excellent performance and result by the lads today, and still missing a good few from the starting 15 like brody and dillon etc. Massive work being put in and great to see the likes of hanranhan and healy back. wasn't very optimistic about the year but by all accounts the training and the setup has been top notch this winter with the lads having good things to say about mike and background team. Can't get carried away after 1 match but the signs are promising for a decent year. These group of fellas are trying their best and we are happy with that, well done all

Best of luck to him with it. He's a good man and he'll do well there.

Think of the commitment these lads have to put into going to training 3 - 5 times a week, cutting off some of their social and family life. The have the respect of any clear thinking person and well as good GAA people. If they were afraid of a bit of hard physical work, they wouldn't show up to begin with; that goes for any counties players. "Don't shoot the messenger." You're not the messenger, you're an idiot  !
