Here's the direct link for the stream. I'm having trouble on Chrome but IE is working fine. Mens Final about to start

How mutually intelligible is Galician with other Romance languages? For some reason I thought it was similar to Celtic but watching there I note it's similarity to Italian (which I'm fluent in) and French (which I'm probably intermediate in). Certainly not close enough for me to understand it fully but not so foreign as for me to just have it go over my head.

I couldn't even say! French is my second language and I've very basic Spanish but I struggle a bit with the Galician!

Madrid beat Irmandinhos A Estrada in the Mens final 3-9 (18) - 0-9 (9)

Ladies Final up next! Between 2 Galician teams Irmandinhas A Estrada and the hosts Fillas do Breogan. Both teams should be close to if not 100% natives

The bulk of the hurling teams in Germany are nearly all non-Irish players. There was a German Native Hurling team at the last edition of the World Games in Dublin.

Because of the travel distances involved for nearly all European sides, 99% of the time we have tournaments where all the teams meet up in one place. Matches are 11-a-side and are usually 10 or 12.5 minutes a half with Semi-Finals & Finals usually being 15 minutes a half. It might not sound like much but depending on the tournament you could easily play 2hrs of Football or Hurling throughout a whole day.

If there's anything like this coming up for hurling let us know

Will do! Hurling is really taking off in Germany of all places so hopefully we'll see a station pick it up there one day!

After 2 international Mens & Ladies Gaelic Football matches were shown live on Galician Language TV channel CRTVG back in March the channel is gearing up to show some club action.

The Iberian Championship Finals (The Spanish equivalent of the All-Ireland Finals) are taking place in A Coruna on Saturday, June 3rd and the Mens & Ladies finals matches will be shown live on CRTVG as well as streamed live on the channel's website.

I'll post a link to the live stream once I have it but while you wait you can get more details by clicking the link below:

Irmandinhos A Estrada from Galicia in Spain held an invitational tournament last Saturday and 2 Irish clubs; Kilbride & Moylagh sent over Mens & Ladies teams respectively. The hosts met the Irish sides in the respective finals of the tournament and had 2 amazing matches. 25 goals and 28 points scored between the 2 games. Oh and it was the Galician teams who came out victorious in both games.

You can watch both matches in full at the link below:

Don't know if these will be up on the site indefinitely so I'd advise watching ASAP. The Ladies game was a cracker!

To give you an idea of how impressive the French side are below you'll find a clip to an interview with Seamus "Banty" Mc Enaney during last year's GAA World Games. He singles out the French team and pays them a pretty high compliment. The whole interview is interesting but he mentions the French lads at 2:36.

Did these comply with the rules Re flying the (Irish) Tricolour and playing Amhràn na bhFiann? ?

Sometimes there's Tricolours around sometimes there aren't. The odd time the National Anthem is played before a tournament/game. Most of Europe plays a tournament format so it's not really feasible a lot of the time. I played as part of an "French Irish" selection against the French National team and we had both the French & Irish anthems played beforehand.

70%-80% of the 3000+ GAA players in Europe are not Irish so they have little to no interest in our flag & anthem. It's the games themselves they are interested in. Can you imagine a Spain vs France soccer match being forced to play God Save the Queen just because the English invented football? In Ireland it's one thing but abroad there's no real to have it as a "rule" as such. Would be better as a recommendation.

The Galician & French Mens sides were runners up in the last 2 World Games. Losing to Argentina & New York respectively. France knocked out Galicia in the last one with Galicia going on to win the plate.

The Galician & French Ladies played each other twice at the last World Games with the French Ladies winning the first match by a point and when they met in the Native Shield Final the Galician Ladies reversed the scoreline winning by a single point again.

I've played against the French National team myself and can attest to how good they are. I've never seen the Galicians in action but they only lost out in the World Games match by 2 points so the match should be a cracker. I'd highly encourage anyone who has the time to watch the live stream. I think you'll be blown away by the quality.

The Galicia "National" Mens & Ladies Gaelic Football sides will host their French counterparts this Saturday, March 18th and both matches will be broadcast live on Galician language TV channel CRTVG (An equivalent of TG4) as well as being streamed live on their website: http://www.crtvg.es.

These will be the first of a number of Galician Gaelic Football matches shown by the channel after a TV deal was brokered between Gaelic Games Europe, the GAA, LGFA, Asociación Galega de Fútbol Gaélico & CRTVG.

You can find out more about the matches at the link below including the throw-in times and a video of the TV spot being shown on the channel right now:

Impressive.  Good so see the Drinking culture suvive the transplant.

Have you ever had the GAA president over?  Beware though he may be offering Jobs in Cavan for next years push for  the Ulster Championship.

Liam O'Neill was over at the European Championships in the video but other than that I couldn't tell you if they have been over before. I'm surprised that he didn't attend the first ever GAA international match between France and Italy last year in Toulouse.

Here's a video of him talking about the Euros
