Slightly off main topic but in line with what has gone before i see more lazy journalism today in the Irish News who also have done a bit on rating county websites!

Tragic news about the untimely death of former Antrim footballer Sean Paul O'Hagan in a car accident last night - deepest sympathy to his family and friends and all at Con Magees Glenravel.

Despite being a nice stadium, the nou camp falls way short on atmosphere and shouldnt make it near the top 20.

GAA Discussion / Re: Youngest GAA Club?
December 19, 2006, 10:38:22 PM
St. Brigid's Belfast - est 1998 as a Juvenile Club.  Adult teams started playing in League and C'ship in 2004 i think and in first season Won the JFC and Div 4 league, then this season won Div 3 league and IFC.

Massive numbers and well run club (now that it is finally fashionable to play Gaelic Games in S. Belfast!) and have just started develping a new pitch / pavillion complex at Musgrave Park.

Also Cumann na Fuiseoige were only formed in 2004 as Juvenile and started adult competition in 2006.

Expect that this game was very one sided?  How did the new DJ play for Danesford?  Supposed to be an unreal talent.

December 08, 2006, 11:03:17 AM
Scullion Hurls have recently moved into online trading  - again nothing to do with the company - just a lot of Antrim clubs get hurls from them.

GAA Discussion / Re: Paddy Heaney of the irish news!

His column used to be fairly entertaining from time to time, now he appears to be trying to make a name for himself slating anything he can find wrong about the GAA - particularly in Antrim.

GAA Discussion / Re: Championship Status
December 05, 2006, 05:45:12 PM
In Antrim ANY club can enter Senior Championship if they so wish - and are also free to choose at what level they play championship at in any given year subject to no howls of protest from other clubs.

Leagues are fairly indicative of Championship status but promotion / relegation isnt affected by C'ship performance as in tyrone.
