hoping someone can offer some suggestions.


A friend of mine  (in Boston) has a 20 year old son who will be working in Naas next Summer.  This young fella is looking for a gym to join while he is there.  He is a an American Football player at a prestigous Ivy League College so he would be "accustomed to/require" a pretty good set up-ie not just cardio machines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re the penalty: when you spend the entire afternoon diving on the ground clutching your face looking for frees/get your man sent off, don't expect to get a chalk line call when the game is in the pot


Soft frees: just from what I saw on TV, Brigids got 2/3 very soft frees in the first half, all within scoring range

Brigids second point-into the Graveyard end-looked very borderline, maybe even wide.

This place has rooms for $100 for 12/31. You could book the cheaper rooms for the 29th and 30th and make a separate reservation for the 31st

It is in Brooklyn, but keep in mind, many parts of Brooklyn and Queens are closer to Times Sq than parts of Manhattan. Website says ots 15 mins by subway from Times Sq.

 Lets say theres a gang of 4/5 lads who go to every game all year. They travel together, they drink together and all sit together at the games.  Come the final, it would be impossible for them to get 5 seats together in the stand. Hill solves that problem very easily and adds to their experience and enjoyment of the big day.  Should the Dubs be the only ones to have that option?

Last week there was the added incentive of getting in early for the minor game.  If you had a stand ticket, you could have stayed in the pub until 3:15 pm and entirely missed the minor game. It wouldnt have impacted your view of the senior game one iota. If you had a Hill ticket you had to get in early for a good perch

Lastly, if it was 10:1 Dubs:Mayo on the Hill, it would not have been a comfortable experience for a lot lf those Mayo fans. With the Hill being pretty much split evenly, the chance of any serious incidents was greatly reduced.

at the end of the day, I think it worked last Sunday. Maybe it took some of the color from the occasion, but in the interests of fairness, I think it was the right decision

By all accounts nothing too bad happened on the Hill last Sunday.  (At least if it did, I didn't hear about it)

Back in 1985, a group of us young bucks from Mayo were saved from a hammering by some "real" Dublin supporters. Great to see that decency prevailed again.

It's only fair that both sets of supporters get to access the Hill. (1) From a financial standpoint and (2) what are the chances that 4 mates who wanted to go together would get stand tickets together for the AIF-not going to happen.

Any Dublin "supporter" who caused/would cause trouble is not a true fan.  I'm sure the GAA would be more than happy to replace those €40 terrace tickets with €80 stand tickets and would use an incident as justification to do so

Any chance you could do a list of clothing that aggrevates you............ don't want to be causing offence unnecessarily.

Anyone see the "Mayo me hole" shirts some of the Dub fams are hawking ? (as opposed to "Kerry me Bollix"  shirts they had for the semi final)

I sure hope they bring a change of clothes. It could make for a very long evening if they dont get a result-LOL

Squire, the team that wins will be the one with the most points on the scoreboard.  How you get there, well thats what happens on match day.

Unfortunately, protecting your lead has become a facet of the modern game, and its something I would expect both teams to do.

Previous Mayo teams wouldnt have engaged in that type of carry on....thats why we havent won anything in 62 years.

I'd say keep Andy in the lineup.  See how he intervened when that Tyrone buck was going to have a "word" with Freeman before he stepped up to take then penalty.  That's experience for you
