General discussion / Re: Bees
July 31, 2008, 02:35:42 AM
This bee theory was talked about in the recent film 'The Happening'. It's suggested that bees pollination is responsible for roughly 1/3 of our food supply so it's unlikely we'd all die out but there would be a few problems I'm sure. The quote is attributed to Einstein for some reason tho theres no record of him ever having said it.

The Prestige (directed by nolan and starring bale and caine also) is a great show as well. About two magicians who try to out do each other and rivaltry gets outta control. Typical nolan, very dark, sinister but class

Totally agreed. Prestige is a gem of a film.

Prestige is a great film with loads of twists but just pure brilliance.

Hope he has a good run at it. Nobody can blame an 18 yr old lad for wanting to play professional sport in a great country. As others have said even if it doesn't work out he'll still be a young lad when he comes back. Hope he can help them to the all ireland before he goes.

Sean Cav
Dooher
Brian Mc
McGinley
Tommy Mc

Mugsy

I think that line-up would be worth a shot if mugsy is fit enough to start. Penrose would be better as an impact player with his direct running IMO. Colm McCullagh similarly has enough class to come on and change a game.

The straining for cliches is embarrassing and how unimaginative is it, never mind local-radio-level parochial, to spend most of the non-action time reading out text messages.

Nail on head. Some of the cliches were just cringeworthy in the final replay. Example when Doherty came on for Fermanagh he had two things to say, the first was something about Doherty arriving on the field on a horse ??? and then "They've sent for the doc - what will he prescribe?"

What is the man talking about?

Tyrones no forwards.

Tommy McGuigan
Brian McGuigan
Brian Dooher
Eoin Mulligan
Sean Cavanagh if he plays there.

The two Brians would be on any county team in Ireland. Tommy has been excellent in the championship so far. Mugsy is just class who needs more match time to reach the peak. Sean Cavanagh is better at midfield but he's just so good that theirs very few better than him no matter where he plays. Tyrone mightn't have a player who'll go out and scored 8 or 9 points but they have 4 r 5 very good players who can get 3 or 4 points a game.

Fair play to the GAA for putting it on in croke. I think if the weather is decent as it has been the last few days there will be a good crowd of near enough 40k at it. Tickets will be no problem and every counties getting their chance to play on the big stage.

Do they have the 'Pow' 'Whack' 'Boom' things coming up on the screen? If not, I'll give it a miss.

Unfortunately not!that was the only disappointing thing about it tho. I thought it was great Ledger stole the show, and Bale was great as Batman. Just such a cool git like when he was in the restaurant with the ballet girl and said "why don't we put some tables together?" and Dent says "I don't think they'l let us" so Wayne replies "They should....I own the place" ;D
