Snowed Under, you were asked not to go down the route of personal abuse again. I have edited your post, and you are now banned for 2 days. When you come back, please refrain from the personal abuse, there is no need for it.

Cheers

Snowed Under. I have just had to trawl though about 10 of your posts to PintsofGuinness editing out the personal insults and name calling. This is blatantly against the rules of this forum. Please debate or argue in a constructive manner in future.

Hi All,

I just merged these two topics as the posts were about the same subject and, in fact, the original post was posted once in each thread. Sorry for any confusion.

Aquazur, I have deleted a post on page 98, brought to the mods attention recently,  where you made public the name of a poster on this board. This is against the rules of this forum, and many others. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, but any further incidents will earn a ban.

cheers.

Obviously only on to mess about with hardstation. I've banned this user permanently.

Sligonian, regardless of your source's reliability or not, that sort of allegation about money is not the sort of thing that should be posted on a public forum. I can imagine the man himself being fairly irate if he or someone he knew read it. I'm editing the comment out, but that sort of rumour should be kept to yourself unless you are willing to prove it. And even then, bear in mind that this board can be 'sued' for slander or libel. (I can't remember which is written and which is oral).

Cheers.

Lads, (LaoisLad and GNevin) this is infantile again. Can ye not just stick to the topic at hand without calling each other fools or muppets. I'm editing all the name calling posts. Sometimes a fool's pardon can be granted to the newcomers on board who might not be familiar with what annoys other posters, but ye are both here long enough at this stage.

By the way Tankie, the first silly post came after 9pm last night. What exactly do you expect the Mods to do? Sit around all night waiting for someone to post something dodgy? Get a grip man.

Tankie. Personal abuse, if spotted or reported,  is, as you know, not allowed on this forum. I'm modifying your post. Cheers.

Croi, sent you a PM there.

Overzealous moderating? You must be joking. According to half the messages I get, we're not doing enough. As for your posts on this thread, they were linked to the whole row, so I just deleted them as well, especially as you quoted one of the contentious posts yourself.

This 'spat' generated 4 or 5 reports to me, so we had to do something.

As for your other points, Bud's leaving was nothing to do with the moderators, and if you have a problem with posts by other members, then report them. Or do you want us to eliminate those posts while at the same time refraining from overzealous moderating?

You can't win.
#403
Alright, that's the end of it.

I'm deleting all posts in this thread by His holiness and Dublinfella. If either of you post another item about this row a ban will be handed out. My young lad is in a creche, and I'd say there's less squabbling in there.

Cheers.

Hi,

Firstly, Dublinfella, sorry for taking a while to get to this.

Secondly, can both of you please grow up and stop using this board as a mechanism for simply getting at each other?

Thirdly, please remove any comments personally attacking the other. PMs are also subject to the same rules, as that constitutes bullying, if the recipient feels that way. the easiest and best way of progressing is to simply refrain from the personal insults at all.

Banning people permanently, especially established posters, is the last option we would ever want to take. Most people who get banned permanently are constantly flouting the rules, or simply messers with nothing to add except hassle. However, if any member continually doles out personal abuse they *will* be subject to a ban for a certain period, and if they continue after that, a permanent ban.

Cheers
