GAA Discussion / Re: Mayo v Kerry
February 02, 2007, 12:59:01 PM
spot on tubberman, due to the some what manical view most mayo supporters take if Kilcullen &co were to have a 'mare against kerry that could finish their intercounty careers.
there would always be a doubt over them by the pub and discussion board managers and that seeps back to players. some on here has already stated her something along the lines of  'i  they can't do it against kerry in their first game they are not worth bothering it'
a 20 21 year old guy has loads of time and a high profile game against the all-irland champions is not the place to start.

what the story on ger brady? is he injured or does JOm not fancy him?
wouldnt worry about any moran hes a real footballer though i alway thought of him as a CHF

come on you cant leave it there . i remember the article. thought it was good at the time but now i've only got half the fact . i was particularly interested as our club was involved in a similar stiry at the time and some of the glencul folks cam down to mayo to talk to us at the time as mick loftus was gaa president at the time as well as the leading light in the club we were spillting from.
so come on spill the real story

i agree with the spailpin the greatest heresy of the article is to start the hype yet again on dublins championship campaign on the basis of what?
nobody else being any good !.
they way he writes off Kerry beggars belief. apart from winning the allireland in their last serious game what exactly have they done wrong?  did the gooch play that badly in the club quater finals or is there something hes not telling us .
even shoody nurotic old mayo were able to take dublin out despite only paying for about a half an our of the game,
. nope Its just all hype and bull to sell papers in the Capital.
and as for greenan hes a man who has totally devoted his life to the GAA and though you may not agree with him I think 40 years dedication devseves at least an ear if only for the fact that the good people of ulster have appointed him as their GAA leader

Very sad news always popped in on the way back to the midlands. you always felt you were in Real GAA land though the Ball alway reminded me of one of the shivelled head old geezers used to bring home from Africa.

Mayo / the annual anti AOM campaign starts here
January 23, 2007, 04:31:32 PM
not really but it way too early to start talking about teams taking shape to find new players we have to show a lot of patience and realize of the many that will try ther will only be a couple to make it but they must be given every chance in the league ect and a lot of choping and chamnging will be necessary and just because a newbe has a poor game he still need support this is a time for real supporters . except austin hes crap and o'neill is too skow too old

what kind of morons close their 2 biggest stadiums for repair at exactly the same time. the same kind of idiots who would close their main stadium  on the prosmise of planning permission so they could embarress the GAA into  giving them a free ride.
Sorry that makes us in the gaa something even worse for handing over a 'clean' stadium to them

and then as has been said there the FAI

always bugged  me TRE doing sideline reports for the atmosphere and then givng out that the fans were waving to the camera . maybe they could get some stand in fans to provide an approprriate level of deliours joy without taking the thing too far
