Hurling Discussion / Re: Sean Og wants pay for play

Is a bloody crazy situation that we have so called Gaels on here wanting to give inflated egos money to run around a pitch and play a sport which is a amateur sport.

no one makes any real money. if you want a job in Gaa then become a coach for the Gaa. teach school kids and work for the clubs to keep this tradition alive, but to claim that  your the one thats bring 80 thousand people to Croke, and you deserve money for that is ridiculous, that something that people have been doing for over 100 years!!!! and hopefully for an other 100 years

i hope they get beat on Sunday (liverpool) and against Hull on the last day. if we lose the league title it wont be because liverpool lay down against Chelsea. it will be because of some shitty teams Fergie played against lesser teams. Burnely sticks out, that was 3 points  dropped and the rest!!

If Chelsea win the league then its because they have a better team, bench and dare i say it a manager who's not afraid to keep playing a winning team.

well, if it ever comes in then I'll walk away from the sport. spent too many nights and weekends knocking my pan in for the club for some 'c**k' to want his share of the money. I've been out of pocket for years playing taking players and trips away with th club. never asked for a penny (well i did get a referee outfit) have never got any money refereeing as well!!

he has been trained and given a free 'professional' training plan sincethe started to play for their local clubs

i would not entertain them and not watch them play.

Christ there is no way they will want to draw or win against Chelsea this weekend after agent Forlan's winning goals.

sorta pleased now. if Chelsea win then they are the best team.

Liverpool couldn't win a game of tiddle winks or pitch and toss!!!

Samba , we are hardly a disgrace. there was five senior footballers hurling on sunday not including CJ.

if you want to give off about it then thats grand. they have young lads trying to make inroads into the senior team. playing Cargin in Toome will give the management a fair idea of the quality coming through, after that performance its not looking great.

I'd say Cargin would give up all their league titles to get to an All Ireland Final.

Shocking misuse of new/knew before the edit.

This Board has been monitored for a long time by the BBC Sports dept, my own posts  where I have criticised BBC sports coverage have been quoted back to me by a BBC employee.
Typical Glenariff.

To be fair TYP, almost every media body of note would have someone somewhere on their payroll looking closely at this board, mostly for info. Sure the Antrim Chairman is an addict.

I don't believe it!!!!

its crazy to think that a sports journalist can't use the internet forums to check on information sure we speak the truth here ;D ;D

yeah giving off about your bosses on company time was a silly thing to do. should have waited till he got home before calling his bosses a shower of Wnakers.

cant see him winning his case, more than likely it has been a 'work mate' that has grassed him up on the posting.

but keep her lit Jerome. those videos he does at games are great

Definite lack of respect shown to Cargin never mind the rest of the league but as was said before St Galls wont give a monkeys. They will be sitting in the long grass for most of the summer waiting for championship again, if Cargin would just get their heads together and use this lack of respect as a motivational tool to prepare for the championship we might get a game in the summer.

christ lads give the lads a chance, some played a tough county game followed by a tough hurling match on the Sunday against Rossa and then expected to play Cargin down there!!!! relax lads St Galls do respect all the clubs (well maybe not St Johns ;))

not a bad result Glenariffe showing good form early on. we got beat by Rossa today. both teams missing players but my post is about the referee.

the Ballymena referee was unreal. never in my life had i ever seen such a bad performance. his calls for both teams was the worst ever witness.

its reasons like that today that I've taken up the refereeing. he seen two flags on the twenty one when there was only one. he give a penalty thirty yards out when it should have been on the twenty  yard line!!!!

in reference to donegal game donegal beat themselves that day. Other than that what real teams have antrim beat.2 defeats on bounce against wexford sligo hardly suggests antrim are near top table. I think bradley needs to quiet it down a little!
well they are inhe same league as Derry and Tyrone so they are keeping good company!!

watch the game last night when i made it back and to be fair Sligo were playing good football,  showing for the ball a lot better, and hungier as someone else pointed out.

looking at it though i think Antrim played better this season without the Galls lads but in saying that the Galls lads sould have improved our performance. its a strange one and i'm sure this month before the big game at Casement, Baker will have worked these lads up for the match.

over the years I've heard some cracking excuses for clubs calling games off but todays excuse takes the biscuit. McDees have called their game off against us because they don't have any helmets!!!!

whats next? can a club get a game called off cause they have no boots??????
#35729
that looks bad, so many Galls men on the team. i know they all have recent experience of Croker, some of them have even played under lights there this year, i hope we win and its a selection headache you want as a manager but finding the right combination is the key to having a successful summer.

how many players will be booking flights this year to the states?
