Wonder what Armagh county team would be like if we had 6 or 7 clubs as dedicated as Cross.
Bit harsh. I know the Ogs are very dedicated and are IMO a top team in Ulster when at full strength.

Didn't Jarlath Burns say a few months ago after Cross beat St Galls that we were the second best team in Ireland!! Haha But seriously I know the lads in our club do put in a serious effort and will be going all out to give Cross a rattle this year (they have a tough game against Granemore to come first though) and there are quality players there too that have made the county panel. I think Armaghgeddon is getting dedication mixed up with belief, never say die attitude and hunger for success.

I think there are a couple of other clubs in the county that on their day could beat Cross in a championship match as well. Cullyhanna nearly beat them in 2010 and Granemore and the Nab (not including 2011 final) are improving big time year on year. Dromintee have missed the boat though I think. The point I am trying to make though is that there are a few teams in Armagh who would do quite well in the Ulster championship if they eventually got there.

good question, of the top of my head i'l try it this order, see if others can fill in any wrong answers:

2012: All ireland final, so far
2011: All ireland champs
2010: beat in armagh by ogs  ( sept 09)

2009: beat in all ireland semi by kilmacud crokes
2008: beat in all ireland semi by st vincents
2007: All ireland champs
2006:  loup?
2005: beat in all ireland semi by portlaoise i think
2004:  bellaghy?
2003: beat in ulster by errigal (end of 02)
2002:  beat in ulster by enniskillen  (end of 01)
2001: beat in ulster by blayney     (end of 2000)

ALL ireland champs 97,99, 2000

i know bellaghy beat them, not sure what year, remember the game. loup is a wild guess

I searched the most of this on google (obviously didn't have to google the 2009 one)  :)

They really let themselves down badly there from 2000 AI win to about 2004  :P

They must have been re-building. You will win nothing with kids.

... except Armagh titles of course!!  :)

You will deserve it!!

Seems like a massive effort from The Shamrocks. I definitely thought that the momentum would have been with Na Piarsaigh after the way the 60 minutes finished. I hope they can finish this off!

The stewartstown subs started the fight by hitting one of the ballymacnab players as they walked of the field...and as for ferghal Logan having his red card rescinded, he gets everyones red cards thrown out as is well known so he may aswell get his own done, I'm not sure what he loop hole in the rule book is for kicking someone in the head but good old ferghal found one to get himself off the hook;-)

i'm sure he cant be considered all bad down there in ballymacnab considering he got them off/pitch reopened for assaulting a referee about a year before that.

nobody in stewartstown or derrytresk for that matter has ever hit a referee so you cant really come on here and mouth off about tyrone football when armagh has it's issues too.

Don't let him wind you up too much Clarshack... just read through his previous posts about the Armagh final and you'll see what I mean. He's been in hiding since the middle of October so it's taken him 3 months to get over it!!

Middletown doing well, winning the first half, 1-9 to 0-5.

Strong breeze to play against in second half though

Well done Middletown today!! great stuff!! To answer an earlier question... Keady and Middletown play for the right to enter the Ulster Senior Club Championship as well as win the Armagh Senior Championship but Cuchulianns are still able to compete in this as well. Difference is that if successful they can only enter Ulster Intermediate club Championship

Jersey design has been awful since 2001 so we should be well used to it.

Bring back the collar.

I was not at the match but from the pictures the jersey looks more or less the same as the last one

The video clip appears to show that the final pass for the goal was as clear a throw-ball as you are liikely to see.

Sorry MR I dont think it "appears" to show "as clear a throw ball as you are likely to see".
No one even hinted that they thought it may have been a throw - not the Johnnies lads, not the Empires and not the referee (who got most other things wrong I grant you...)
Having watched it at the match and afterwards in slow mo, HD and 50" flat screen it was as clear a legal pass as I ever saw.

Well done Na Clairsigh.......not bad for a team who couldnt field just 8 months ago !

That's right... I forgot about that!! Was it true that they considered pulling the team out of competition for low numbers? Well done anyway and good luck in the final
