Owen Coss from Kilcotton confirmed as second selector.
Good addition; very well-respected and liked around the county.

Hopefully Borris/Kilcotton will continue their excellent representation on our county panels.

They need to put muscle in and lose the beer bellies if they are to be proud, no offence
Where did he mention pride?

And whyever would someone take offence at your slagging off amateur players in the off season?

Okay then sorry, pick the b/k team give them free jackets and let them get bet by Kerry in the round robin, pride comes nowhere whilst representing your county, b/k are over rated immensely and were walked on by the Dublin champions because they drank solid for a week after winning the cf, 2-3 players top is a fair representation from b/k in my opinion, doesn't make it right but I'm entitled to it

Eamonn Kelly Manager
Conor Gleeson hurling coach
DJ ?? Strength & conditioning
John Taylor on board as one selector
Second selector being brought on board as well

professional set up presented with a hectic schedule this side of xmass

Few new faces including Eoin Fleming, & returning faces including Darren Maher

Wouldn't be shocked to see Fleming take the Number 1 jersey.

Also Taylor not a bad choice as a selector.

Any news on other newcomers? And Eoin Fleming should be given the nod in goal as he is less prone to blunders, and John Taylor is a decent choice as selector, whether you are in Portlaoise or borris in ossory, you could see John Taylor at games so he knows whats there

Going to be tough for the hurlers but should easily retain Liam McCarthy status, cant see us beating Offaly should we meet them unfortunately and I hope that I am wrong, maybe its wexfords turn for a shock defeat should we get out of round robin stages, who knows, one can only hope and get out and support the team through thick and thin

To be honest some of the best games I have seen have been in this age group. It is definately of benefit for the development of players and the transition between minor and senior.

In laois we haven't too many teams at this grade so there's not reason it couldn't be run off over a month or 6 weeks in February or March on weekends when the NFL is not on.

It seems like u21 is fizzeling out but I still think it would be a great medal to have and especially for the guys that play junior or intermediate to let them mix it up with senior players, by the way I apologise as I think I reported your comment to mods by mistake as I'm on my phone but I'm sure I pressed back

There is a few clubs that you would feel will struggle to keep going in the next few years, trumera, ballypickas, kyle in the hurling kilcavan arles kilcruise, arles killen in the football
[/quote]

Yeah I admire Trumera for what they have achieved in the last 20 years, there is only 40 houses in Trumera apparently, I know one or two of them lads and they have a lot of guys the wrong side of 35 now, As for football i would be the worst one to comment on it as I never go to football games, Annoughnough are struggling too as I was talking to one of their players in a taxi home from Kilkenny one night(Random encounters)lol

So far ive heard daly from barrowhouse to joesphs or killen in the football and quinlan from kyle to borris/kilcotton and harnett from mountmellick to ballyfin in the hurling

Yes Quinlan has been telling B/K that he is going to put in a transfer and rumor has it that Kyle are in deep trouble with numbers and geographically where they are they have nobody to join with, other small hurling clubs in laois like slieve bloom were damn near going under a few years ago and pulled it back and Ballinakill are punching above their weight at the moment too

are you drunk brought offaly on big time, :-[  lost to kerry first time in 40 odd years, lost to westmeath by 14 points in championship,

Offaly are the Liverpool of the gaa, blind optimism from that lot is actually astonishing

In fairness to ballinakill they have easily the smallest pick from the senior clubs, although they have taken players from spink in the last few year which is why they are fiwlding teams by themselves at the moment. They are a bit like arles kilcruise in the foottball in that they have had to maximise their resources to the very limit and have got the most they couls out of what they had. As for staying together the thing they have going for them is that they have the best player in the county who has at least 10 years left of being a top quality player

Yes that's very true, they had 4-5 guys playing senior in the championship that were also junior b winners over Kyle I think it was, there is no proper jobs in Laois so small clubs will continue to struggle unfortunately, iv heard an unconfirmed rumor that ballinakill are going the 'gaels' route with slieve bloom

Conor Quinlan from Kyle is seemingly joining B/K next year at senior grade should kyle allow the transfer, hard to see though as Kyle barely have a team these days
