'You're not sounding like a Nazi, you're sounding like a tit. This is a thread about the Irish Football Association. '

You're absolutely right ... C'mon Sweden, stuff the bastards...

Not to sound like a Nazi here, but Hitler considered Austria part of a Greater Germany (thus the anchluss) and considered himself 100% German ... same percentage as the Sax-Coburg-Gotha-Windsors

'If by "youse boys" you mean those posters on this Board who are also fans of the NI soccer team, there is a thread on OWC'

What's the point?  You stifle debate by banning anybody that doesn't toe the party line ... bit like that funny wee moustached boyo who started World War II and is the same nationality as your beloved monarch

Youse boys are very quiet about the weekend revelation that your boss Howard Wells helped negotiate a lucrative £500,000 IFA deal with a ticketing firm while he was also in partnership with the successful company  ... a contract that was not put out to tender because the aformentioned Mr Wells decided - on his own initiative - that the aformentioned firm with which he was still in partnership with could do the job better than anyone else .... mmmm, no conflict of interest there, eh?

'The Lagan Valley MP said that Mr Ahern was asked to consider providing Irish diplomatic pressure to seek compensation from the Libyan government for supplying weapons used in hundreds of IRA attacks'

Good idea Daniel O'Donnell. And maybe you'd be willing to provide pressure yourself on the British government to seek compensation for the victims of collusion carried out by the so-called forces of law and order

'Too many Freemasons making money outta Norn Iron at Windsor!'
That's a fairly serious allegation, I presume you have some evidence to back it up.

Wasn't part of the problem with the Keith Gillespie incident on the plane back from Iceland that he and other players were pissed as farts.  The reason they were pissed as farts was the fact, unlike other professionally run teams who get the first available flight back after matches, was that these self-same freemasons (ie the travelling committee members of the IFA) were - as they are wont to do - enjoying the gratis hospitality
laid on by by their hosts or paid for out of IFA expenses, and the team could fly back home only when they'd stuffed their fat arses with grilled puffins, whale meat and all the hooch they could stomach.

PS  Why do people insist on calling Windsor a 'national' stadium and 'international' venue?  You have to be a 'country' to qualify for such terms...

Tony O'Reilly? Suck my f****** plums.

Kevin Myers was, basically, sacked from the Irish Times for describing the progeny of unmarried Irish girls as "bastards".  Kevin Myers was then employed by Indepentent New & Media.  The head of Independent News & Media is Tony O'Reilly.  Tony O'Reilly is probably Ireland's best known "bastard" (I'm talking the dictionary term here, folks).  A good friend of mine was one of the first journalists to intervierw Myers after his switch to IN&M ... he specifically asked Myers how he squared his view of Irish "bastards" with the fact he was now sucking off the teet of the best-known "bastard" in Ireland. Guess what? Kevin Myers, the man with an opinon on everything, refused to discuss the matter.

How can someone like O'Reilly EVEN be discussed in the same breath as Collins, Tom Clarke, James Connolly etc.

This is the only man in the world with an honourary knighthood who INSISTS on be addressed as SIR Tony O'Reilly.  Great Irishmen? He's not an Irishman.

Saddened to hear a hero from my youth has passed away... I always had more admiration for dual stars like Mick, Liam Currams and Teddy McCarthy.  Jaysus, 52 is awful young.  RIP

'I'd like to see how tight he would be if he was thrown into a 50-50 with Francie Bellew'

What? Like that 50-50 with Big Sean in the 2005 semi-final when Francie couldn't get off the floor for three minutes?

'Can anyone remember if he was one of the ones Kerr criticised for not wanting to go see sick children etc?'

Dunno, but Richard Dunne was definitely one of them, and he went down in my estimation when I heard it

Ah God love him, it must be terrible being a Premiership footballer.  The lies he told were pathetic, but sure any guy who was going seriously bald two years ago and now walks about with that thatch on his bonce has obviously got some difficulty dealing with reality and small matters like the truth.

Saying that, he's a decent player and I'm very sorry about his girlfriend's misscarriage.  If he's genuinely contrite then he should be given another chance

'IMHO Gooch is better now than Canavan was at his peak.  Better disciplined also.'

Bit unfair.  Gooch is brilliant (is he really 10 stone?) but he gets nowhere near the amount of abuse on the pitch that Canavan had to take, probably because refs are a bit quicker to send people off these days than they were in mid-Nineties.  Remember McDermott's 'tackle' in the 96 semi that was five seconds late and put Canavan out of the game for over a year (he was never the same after it either) ... the tr**p wasn't even f****** booked!!!

Canavan had to fight fire with fire, that's where this 'discipline' question arises.  The guy was the best I ever saw, and includes Frank McGuigan. Leading Tyrone to a 20-point (yes 20-point) win over Kerry in an All-Ireland U21 final and scoring 2-5 himself in the process ... pure brilliance.  I remember a National League game in Dungannon when he beat 5 Cavan backs ... then went back and beat them again before sticking the ball over the bar.

A mate in the media tells me the News of the World has in its possession a photograph of the lovely Debbie with, ahem, an Alsation ... and she's not taking it for a walk...  The paper also has, apparently, a collection of files on Cliff Richard that's about 7ft high and ready for release when he dies and meets 'his father who art in heaven'!
