well the truth, who in Antrim would have beaten that Loughrea side? Cushendall have dominated Antrim for the last two years, and have been there abouts for the last ten. so are the Antrim clubs not up to the mark?

Cushendall lost out because of the wide tally, they matched Loughrea in most departments but could not score, a dry sod and day would have given both teams a better return, Loughrea handled the conditions better. their forwards clicked at the Antrim final, so they do have it.

So because of his fathers and his present occupation the guy is free from a bit of slagging. Wind your neck in.

Though the conditions were bad, I cant see anybody beating the Shamrocks. The game they played against Toomevara was possibly one of the best games of hurling county/club you will witness this year. I'm sure Loughrea will put in a mighty effort but the quality and fitness of Ballyhale will come through.

The weather played its part in yesterday's game but Cushendall will come away knowing that they could have had at least a draw from this game. In the last 5 minutes they had chances to get the 3 points back to level it, but bad options cost them. The goal that finally killed them off was a foul and the referee should have blown it right away (if he had have seen it) the guy fouled the ball when handing it of to Vinny Maher.

heard it's the 14th of April for the start of the Ulster Hurling league no other news yet.

is it the same funding again for the games and did the clubs have any problems claiming the money from the Ulster Council last year?

your well informed (under 16 though), Sam internal polictics. Paul will be taking an under 15 development squad at the club, then take the team next year. under age teams (at naomh gall) have always had plenty of people looking to look after them.

and besides Glenravel could not get any worse. whats your club Sam?

Paul is a good, motivator, plenty of years experience and has plenty of championship wins behind him and has played county at all age groups, played against Cargin up at Rasharkin in that great game, when we won 5.  4, not sure of the team Slim :P. Paul scored 2 that day.

A manager will come in with new ideas and tactics but if the team don't put the same effort in then it's doomed from the start. I wish him all the best

Antrim's fixtures, to be sorted out on Thursday, already the Ulster council have set proposed dates for this, if like last year (even though we did not enter because of the all Ireland run, and maybe Cushendall have done the same) arranged our own leagues around the Ulster hurling league. This is wrong, I proposed last year that the Ulster league be played in February through to the start of our own leagues, this would be better than arranging challenge games. County players did not play anyway so they would not be missed, formations, tactics, and having a look at fringe players would be the benefits of an earlier start.

I'm all for the creation of a top tier format involving the top teams in Antrim, Down and Derry in high summer but this will never happen in football dominated counties (even Antrim is dominated by football and we are crap at it) so when they arrange hurling games on the Saturday night we will not have our footballers for they will be playing football the next day. So the standards will be poor.
