Best foreign language film I have ever seen is one called Jeux d'enfants or "Love me if you dare" in English.

It's kind of a messed up love story but very funny and very clever with a great storyline and great acting in it.

Marion Cotillard (Inception) is also another reason to watch it!!
Have you or anyone else on here seen Jean de Florette or its sequel Manon des scources? Great story set in rural France but it could be set amongst country people anywhere.

Surely Ronnie Whelan, Mark Lawrenson and the original "white Pele" Jim Beglin played in a semi in the mid eighties? Its a stretch including Lawrenson so Ziggy90 is probably right.

They played in the 1985 (Heysel) final.
Great shout I completely forgot about them.

Good to see both Gibson and O'Shea play and play well in such an important game.

It was strange to hear Ferguson in the post match interview admit vulnerability. He said he spent a sleepless night juggling his doubts, wondering what team to play. He sounded very relaxed as if this year's plan was all falling into place, after a small blip last week.

yes i wonder when last time 3 Irishmen played in a European Semi final
If my memory serves me correctly 1968 european cup final Man U v Benfica.Brennan Dunne & Best.

The hair is too black.

He acquired quite a few grey hairs in the past 10 years or so.

I suppose they have Grecian 2000 over there as well.

maybe he is from loughglinn
If he is, it's a good job he didn't go into hiding at home, they'd never find him amongst his brethren from Ballagh & Ballyhaunis. The world is a better place today without the murdering sc**bag.

While i was a student i worked in a pub in Short Heath Birmingham called the Leopard. Easily the roughest shithole ive ever been in. The first night 2 fellas come in and dragged the fruit machine out into the beer garden and smashed it up to get the money out of it, i asked the manager was he going to do anything and he said "no feck that im just a paid manager", then there was a knife fight the same night, the second night a woman buying a drink told me she would glass me (her mate ordered her a pint, she said she only wanted a half, i went to pull the pint and thats when the glassing was threatened), the 3rd day there was a meeting of local combat18 in the bar, i was asked if i was a red hand commando or a fenian b**tard, when i gave a smart answer the manager told me that one of them had enquired as to where i got off the bus etc. That was it, never went back.
Worked in another pub called the country Girl in Saltley in Birmingham, some tidy rows in there as well, an aul Dub called Tommy Jones hit an Asian taxi driver over the head with his walking stick (the stick had a brass horses head on the top), all hell broke loose then. Had to get waded in to break up what i could (all this for £3 per hour)

Did you ever frequent the Garryowen?

Couple of times late on. Dont remember much about the place other than it was a rough old spot.

Signing out of here till whenever I get back. I wish both teams well and though I want us to win, I hope it is a good game with the sport the real winner. If we do not win it would be ok to lose to a team like St Brigids who have been steadily building an improving unit and now are a serious outfit. Good luck to all and see you when I get back!

Same here about to sign out till i get back, hopefully the two good teams gives us a good game! hopefully our lads leave no stone unturned & not asking what if when it's over. this will be 7 time a Roscommon club team have made the final & the third different team to make it so who knows maybe third time lucky/seventh heaven??

Losing to Cross in the final would be like Roscommon losing to Dublin so I'll tip my hat to them if they win there 5th All Ireland.

Quote22:30 Bruce Springsteen: Darkness Live 1978 (T) Footage of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's concert in Houston, where the singer-songwriter played songs from his fourth studio album Darkness on the Edge of Town.

The full version of this is on the box set- outstanding stuff.
Did you see himself and Miami belting out Sherry Darling? A very underated song imho it's one of my favourites off that album. The man is the Cappo di tutti Cappo.

I do the same, keep the person in mind when praying.
