I know of a involving an east Tyrone club where a player was brought to court for "assaulting" a member of the opposition.
Said member of opposition had spent the duration of the game bullying a player much physically smaller than him, his teammate swapped positions for a few minutes and gave him a thump resulting in a broken jaw, PSNI called and court case ensued.

And what was the outcome ? If it went to court there's nothing preventing you naming all

I vaguely remember something like that. IFRC when that same team played a few other clubs the away changing rooms had pics up. You know the ones with RUC and a circle and slash through it. The intimidation was quite bad.
Anyway next time I go to a Clonoe game I'll be sure to bring a gun and shoot a few people. Anything seems to go according to The Prodigy.

my god! what an imbecile!

and for the better no room for thugs who are too scared to get into ring or cage but want to use gaa field to live out fantasies.

Thats a strange one now. I doubt too many are playing football to live out their mma fantasies! 😆 being a bit dramatic there!

Rough football does not involved physically assaulting people with punches to head.

It used to involve that quite a lot and also a lot more dangerous stuff as well. Most of all that is out of the game now.

Listen, you've had 22 posts, I think you should just leave it at that mate

I thought forums like these were for giving opinions? I understand you don't agree with mine but there is not a lot you can do about it.

Prodigy sums Clonoe up.

Pack of snowflakes on here! Doesn't sound like too many of you have ever played the game, or are old enough to remember when football actually was rough! im not saying we should go back to those days at all, but lets not get carried away when a few punches are thrown. Its regrettable they ended up injured but these things happen. I couldn't see any police involvement in the matter.

Heard today that Ryan Coleman had his jaw broke at Clonoe hands on Saturday also. It wasn't just the manager that needed hospital attention. Huge blow for the moy in their hope of survival.

County Board must take action to deter such thuggery.

Scandalous! How long are these guys going to get away with this stuff. always off the ball? County Board will do nothing. Involve the police i reckon

Why is Everyone afraid to mention the perpetrators?  Patrick Dorris hit the manager and Jerome McClure hit Coleman.

These guys deserve no anonymity, they should be responsible for their actions.  The county board need to be strong on this type of attack, long bans should be handed out

This won't finish until someone is killed by a "one punch" and it's only a matter of time. If you take the amount of incidents that happen one will eventually end with a fatality.

one of the big questions here is why was there a manager on the field getting involved with a player? Thats a dangerous place to put yourself in if your obviously not able to defend yourself. He might think twice now before he comes onto the pitch now during a heated game.

He was on to check on an injured player. Certainly wasn't acting in an aggressive manner, may have had words with the perpetrator though - don't think that makes you fair game for this kind of action?

It would depend on what the words were, if the player felt threatened he has every right to defend himself. That man had no business entering the field of play or slabbering at players. There was no way he would have been hit if he had kept himself on the side line. Its his own fault he got a slap and hopefully he learns from it.

I can only hope you don't hold a coaching position within any club or are in a position to influence youth.

Do you think it is ok for a manager/coach to come onto the pitch during the game to have a go or threaten opposition players? do you think that doing something like this is almost certainly going to cause some sort of physical altercation? There are 30 lads out there battling to win a game and when someone comes onto the field that has no business being there it gets tempers up. Hes a big boy, he knew what he was doing going onto that pitch and knew what the consequences could be. At the end of the day when you approach someone in a threatening manner you have to be prepared for what might happen.

Coalisland took out Darragh Canavan who had to leave the field injured, then spent the 2nd half trying to do the same to Ruari.  The player who got the 2nd yellow for punching him straight after the goal should have received a straight red. Shithouse tactics and I didn't see any of the goading by Errigal being touted on here, other than the odd fist pump when a point was scored.   Poor game management by Errigal bench tho.
They also took out Odhran Robinson. Kick to the ribs while lying on the ground just before half time.

Yup your correct and all agreed beforehand who the men are to be taken out.  The training fund was lumped on at 3-1 so the assasins will drink for free all night tonight

Would you not use it to give your manager a pay rise or is he well enough paid already?

Bad day for you, blues win and c$shidy bate in antrim.

McDoll$r roaded yet?

Not really, I couldn't care less who won that game or what happens in Antrim. Fair play to yous and ref for getting the result.

Mcdonald situation will be looked at when the seasons over. I would say before you got this fortunate run in the championship Mcguckin was hanging by a fine thread. O'Hagan and the cub was primed to step in again!

Mcdonald who's he? Is he the international S&C man you paid all the money for?

Apologies meant Mc Donnell. The international  S&C coach we have no problem paying for is Mike McGurn.

Fair play he's doing some job  ::)

It's not the best season we have ever had but far from the worst. We will try and build on a decent league position and go again next year. The clonoe lads will stick at it, there won't be any player fights or fall outs like our neighbours are notorious for when they aren't going well. It's a good job they got this run in the championship before any blood was shed.

Maybe you can tell us one of these notorious incidents that you speak of?

I have heard that many stories I wouldn't know where to start, I'm sure it's all lies but!

Start with the least notorious then and build it up .... the suspense is killing me

Ah don't worry about it, I just made it up because I'm jealous of you getting to a final. You got me!

Why did clonoe fitness look so off? Old team just?

A combination of things but I'm sure the age profile played a part alright.
