Showing the matches live on this website will have very little impact on the attendance. I can't imagine crowds in Crossmaglen gathering round the laptop rather than travel up to Armagh for the County Final.

It's a great service for those working abroad and it's a pity the Armagh County Board have taken this approach.

I reckon it would cost more to set up a pay for view system than they would collect.

Possibly Lecale, I am not sure how much it costs.  I would imagine there would also be enough sponsors out there would assist.  I think ACB are pretty stapped at the minute and MAG is costing an awful lot of money to run.

That maybe the case; however, the streaming of this was not impacting on the county board. TG4 showed the final a few years back and the attendance at the game was no different. The real losers in this are the people who have to move away for whatever reason. One person I know of in the states had arranged for all his mates (who are all yanks) to come round for beers to watch his local club in the final and is fuming now he cannot watch it. It was a great service and showcased our local games in a good light and this has now been ruined.

The ACB have made some baffling decisions over the years but this one tops the lot. Surely they could have let the final be shown and then spent the next 9 months negotiating for next season and tout for sponsors of the service. Long term this would have been of more benfit rather than demanding money 48 hours before throw in.

Any word on dates for this years fixtures

In there early Real... great to see the hurlers in this years competition. Would the last time they got there have been in 2004/5 season against St Johns? As far as I can remember Decky Coulter scored about 15/16 points in the drawn game.

Makes me laugh at Crossmaglen players talking about onelife one club. They are the last club who should be spouting that slogan when you look at their record of poaching players.

Name the players they have paoched? I am really interested in this response

Pearse Og beat St Pats by 4

I couldn't make it to the game today el_cuervo but I have heard there was a comeback made today

Ronan played for ten minutes and done well. Great to see him back. He played ten last week against carrickmore as well.

Good stuff... any other results? I heard on Facebook that the Harps were beat by Maghery

I have nothing but respect and admiration for everything Cross have achieved but for the sake of the county side i hope they get knocked out early next year. Their success year after year is killing the county side's development.

Correct.

There's not many Cross people that will care about that!

@Woolberto has joined the fray on Twitter...

"The more I hear about this McKeever thing the bigger weasel he is, and the Armagh county board are even worse"

To add to this from yesterday...

" Don't know why the Laois player would sink to those levels, I could think of 100 insults for that wannabe hard man clown McKeever"

Parky calls someone a wannabe hard man.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Classy.. wouldn't expect anything less from him

'Racism storm puts GAA in a quandary'

http://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-football/racism-storm-puts-gaa-in-a-quandary-3058010.html

I'd like to thank our Northern chums for generating another great headline promoting our games in the national media.
Keep them coming lads.

I know. You wouldn't credit it, would you? At least Graham Geraghty did justice to the headline....

... or if it's true the Laois man/men for making the comments. IF it is true then I think it was more trying to target Mc Keever to make him react but I have come across these types of comments before and I have seen them (tongue in cheek of course) on this board in places. Never crossed my mind to ever bring it up but as GAA men it is a pretty low way of trying to get a player sent off. It's a pretty sensitive subject for a lot of us Nordies and GAA people should remember the history of even just this organisation and think twice before making comments like that ever again.

Abuse that players receive on twitter is nothing short of digusting. Conor Clerkin, and Dick Hoey, from Armagh, recently received numerous hurtful posts regarding their hair, or for a better word, lack of it. They were also insulted over their appearance and physical appearance, and of course choice of county. Twitter abuse needs to stop

You should follow this advice yourself... that comment you left on the Harps thread was a bit of joke

A message to the harps here, in particular Mini Mc Shane- Watch out in minors this year, particularly mini. Myself and Conor Hoey, from Drumintee, will be making sure you do very little. Your days of terrorizing our defence are numbered. And Conor White, your the most over-rated player ever. Mick Martin roasted you sure. Gluck

;D ;D  ;D If they are lucky Dromintee might have another glorious season losing a final!!

4/5 more like the 7/8 that will be good enough..

Cross are some outfit alright but your posts are awful cocky ar12... name the 7/8 and who they would replace in the county team.

Hearty is no .1
James Morgan- Declan Mc Kenna
Aaron Kernan- Kevin Dyas
Paul Mc Keown- Fin Mo
David Mc Kenna/Johnny Hannratty- Toner and Lavery. (I know mal and Charlie are there at the minute)
Tony k- Brian mallon
Aaron C or Stephen Kernan - Anto duffy
Jamie Clarke- John Kingham

I don't mean any disrespect to the players but man for man is the Cross players not better?

My Championship Team
1)   Hearty Probably No1 but may not be guaranteed after flop last year
2)   James Morgan Either him or McKeown, but not both
3)   Brendan Donaghy
4)   Paul Mc Keown see above
5)   Aaron Kernan definitely
6)   Mc Keever
7)   Andy Mallon - Would have Dyas here and Mallon at CB at expense of Morgan/McKeown
8)   Charlie
9)   Titch or Johnny - no way to both
10)    Aaron Cunnigham - no way
11)   Mal Mackin
12)   Tony Kernan
13)   Gavin Mc Parland
14)   Stevie Mc Donnell
15)   Jamie Clarke - definitely
All due respect but putting in a good shift against some mediocre Kerry club side isn't the same as going toe-to-toe  for an hour with our bog-dwelling short-arses from across the Blackwater.

I would certainly have most of those players in the panel but it would be unfair to those who are already shining with both the U21 and senior sides (Campbell, Forker, McParland, McVerry etc) to be disregarded just to make way for the Cross contingent.

I'm glad this sparked a debate... as good as Cross are at club level not all their players make the cut at county level. I don't know why this is, maybe the players can't motivate themselves for anyone else other than their club or because it is just one level too high for them. Again, it could be that they have been playing non-stop for the last 24 months and are burnt out.

Wonder what Armagh county team would be like if we had 6 or 7 clubs as dedicated as Cross.
Bit harsh. I know the Ogs are very dedicated and are IMO a top team in Ulster when at full strength.

Didn't Jarlath Burns say a few months ago after Cross beat St Galls that we were the second best team in Ireland!! Haha But seriously I know the lads in our club do put in a serious effort and will be going all out to give Cross a rattle this year (they have a tough game against Granemore to come first though) and there are quality players there too that have made the county panel. I think Armaghgeddon is getting dedication mixed up with belief, never say die attitude and hunger for success.

I think there are a couple of other clubs in the county that on their day could beat Cross in a championship match as well. Cullyhanna nearly beat them in 2010 and Granemore and the Nab (not including 2011 final) are improving big time year on year. Dromintee have missed the boat though I think. The point I am trying to make though is that there are a few teams in Armagh who would do quite well in the Ulster championship if they eventually got there.

Are u serious Granemore? They couldn't even beat the Nab who Cross give a footballing lesson to. Cullyhanna had cross beat but could finish then off and cross won.  So many times down the years Cross were on the verge of been beat Ogs Dromintee Harps all had the chances but hadn't got the bottle to finish the game off.

I don't think that any team in Armagh would give Ulster a real go at the start of the season their goals have to be to try and win the Armagh Championship not an Ulster. Ogs didn't care if they beat St Galls or not they were just happy with the County and rightly so.

Your not taking this in the right context. I said that Granemore and the Nab are improving every year and what you said about the Ogs, Harps etc having their chances but 'hadn't got the bottle', well the Ogs beating them proves that if you keep plugging away a win will come. Surely Cullyhanna would take heart from that.

In terms of the Ulster I meant that we have good teams in the county but because Cross dominate we don't see them on the Ulster stage. I wouldn't say the Ogs cared about the St Galls match either... it wasn't their goal at the start of that year but when they got there they wanted to beat them
