They are all over the news since the announcement, their motives who knows, self serving moment in the limelight, why wouldn't society open now, when would you fully remove restrictions? Masks are a joke, why would you wear a mask getting milk but not hammered in a nightclub?

Boris five point plan to live with Covid and return to normal.

Fair play to him, cant disagree with any of that

Totally agree though I am sure the experts and unions will be queueing up with concerns, they won't want to relinquish their moment in the spotlight anytime soon, new waves, variants, outlandish death projections, scare, scare, scare. Vaccination was the way out though some in the scientific community would want us to stay locked up indefinitely.

Timely thread. We literally just added our 17 year old to my insurance for 3 months (has test booked for October) for an extra 200 quid but I had to move insurer as my own insurer wouldn't take him on for any car above Group 20. When he passes we were told it will be silly money and most insurers won't look at him for our cars (2.0L and 2.4L diesels) so either by him a cheap small car and get him his own policy (still expensive I'd say) or look for a car dealer that will through in insurance- a mate said he got his daughter a Citroën C1 with insurance a few years ago like this.

I should say the price of used cars even old cheap ones is silly at the minute.

I have been finding that that out, and they have no signs of going down, thanks all.

I think that is only hurling? (Isn't it?)

I know it's absolutely in hurling. Wasn't sure if it was in football. If not the penalty was a wrong call but the ref should have played advantage anyway as Rian O Neill had stuck it in the net anyway. Keeper should have been black carded.

It is also in football - Motion 20 at Annual Congress 2021 - so it was a penalty.

Motion 20: This motion proposes new penalties for aggressive and cynical fouls in hurling and football.

In hurling, if a player with a goal-scoring opportunity either inside the 20-metre line or the semi-circular arc that extends from the 20 metre line is pulled down, tripped, or struck with a hurley in a careless manner then a penalty shall be awarded and the offender will be yellow-carded and sent to the sin-bin for 10 minutes. If the foul committed is a second caution or one that merits a red-card then the offender is ordered off for the remainder of the game including any extra-time to be played.

Similarly, in football, if a cynical foul is committed on an attacking player with a goal-scoring opportunity inside the 20-metre line or the semi-circular arc, then a penalty will be awarded to the team affected.

Paul Flynn would be one of Stephen's best mates - his words this morning show there's clearly more to this than retiring - hope all is ok.

He is 100% right, I'm sure Dessie and the squad are suitably informed as to Cluxton's availability or otherwise, what those on the SG are really complaining about is that they don't have the inside track on the story, they nor us have any entitlement to it imo.

What did Flynn say?

https://twitter.com/Flinto23/status/1411952520541487105

"Stephen Cluxton deserves time and space if he needs/wants it. It's an amateur sport, he isn't contracted or obligated play. He can opt in or out or be deselected at any time! Nobody knows what's going on in any players life as to why they need/ want a break. Nonsense on the SG!"

That's it, why does he have to officially retire how many here "retired" from club action!

General discussion / Learner Driving Insurance

Young lad learning to drive was going get him insurance to drive my car whilst learning someone told me to use https://www.wearemarmalade.co.uk/ someone said just ring my own insurance and put him on for a few months. Then I was at car dealer looking for a new car and the sales lady said it will adversely effect him if I get him learners insurance when he passes, best get him his own insurance for the car - anyone with any experience of this, appreciate when he does pass it will be immense as he's only 17 so don't want to do anything that may hike the price, I did question can he have his own insurance with a provisional license - she assured me he could, I was somewhat sceptical.
