Was on the Antrim GAA website and it said to contact your club secretary for tickets for the club games. What if you're from outside the county. Is there another way to get tickets?

Aye, I'd nip to a game this evening if I thought I'd get in by paying at the gate. Can't be arsed with a wasted journey though.

Problem Solved

That's my Friday evening sorted. Thanks.

12. B. Dooher
13. C. McCullagh
14. God

Honourable Mentions:
J. Devine
N. Sludden
S. O'Neill
B. McGuigan
C. McAnallen

Stevie O'Neill, footballer of the year and with 3 All-Stars, can't make this team?

No Ricey or Brian McGuigan?

McCrory makes this team? Based on what exactly?

McShane, as good a footballer as he is, has not done enough to make the best team of the last 20 years.

Not sure McCullagh would feature either.

Leaving the game tonight I heard an Ardboe man say they had not won a home game from 2019, would that be correct??

That would be correct. Lost two homes games last year with 2 further games not played.. Lost 3 this year.

They're a championship side- playing without their best 2 players currently aswell

Most teams are playing without their best players as present. Coalisland are no different in that respect. They may have a few injuries but no team with aims to win the championship dismiss the league. Any team that's won the championship in the last 20 years have done off the back of a decent league campaign.

They don't care about league

Yeah I'm sure they're delighted to be 1 point off the drop zone and pretty much the half way point. All part of the plan😉

I see CJ McGourty is transferring his allegiance from St Gall's to Ardboe. Big loss to St Gall's?

If people come on here and be critical of players that's fine but back it up with some decent analysis of their shortcomings or performance on the day. For me a lot of the criticism on her hints at personal or even club related criticism. PFar too much lazy generalisations about players here.

With IC not being given an exemption this year, I fear it'll be much later in the year before club football can be played. IC, I would think, would be given clearance to be played first whenever that is. Club football will be given clearance much later. I don't think the GAA will be in a position to choose which goes first. Their hands may be tied if they want to get both completed this year.

It's not the first time he's played outfield at Tyrone trials.

Shea McGuigan consistenly one of the best midfielders in club action. Why wouldn't he be in the panel? In my opinion he'd be ahead of mcdonnell, and perhaps evens with Kilpatrick. Decent option, if no Fenton.

I take it you haven't been to too many Ardboe games then.

Doesn't really matter whether people think it's better for club to go first or county. Ultimately it'll come down to a financial decision. Croke Park has been placed under huge pressure with the way this season has panned out. If it comes to the point that club has to go first to raise the funds then so be it.

Players seemed glad of the change to Davis last season and I thought he was adding something different to the setup. For all the talk of moving on from the Harte era it's strange to see us move backward to an already tried coach.

The players also thought very highly of Peter Donnelly too though.

Donnelly in his previous role worked with pretty much all age groups though and I'm surprised we haven't tried to find a replacement for that. For what Donnelly and Davis are likely commanding working freelance we could probably replace somebody in Donnelly's previous role on a full time basis.

I don't really have much of an issue with him coming back, he seems to be highly regarded by the players and has a good rapport with them along with having a great reputation in his field. Davies was basically just an S&C guy who designed and monitored the players plans whereas Donnelly when he was in the management team before took a much more active role in the coaching of the side. You'd regularly hear him and see him on the sideline barking out the orders.

It's a fairly inexperienced management duo so no problem surrounding themselves with guys like Donnelly

I'd agree with Donnelly being well regarded by the players. He's worked at a decent level in sport. Though from speaking to a few of the current players, they were taken aback at Davis' attention to detail and knowledge he brought to the setup. Apparently it was another level.

Sometimes you think what you have is great until someone else comes along. Hopefully the players are happy to see Donnelly return again.

I'm surprised that Antrim went for McGinley/O'Neill over Madden/McEntee. Enda and Stevie could go in and do a fantastic job with Antrim and from what I hear Stevie seems to be pretty decent, but if you look at it, none of the top teams would take a punt on management with 3 years club management between them. Granted, Antrim aren't one of the top teams, but why should they not approach their management choices in the same way?

I suppose time will tell with this one. Good luck to them. If they do well we can thank you for preparing them for their homecoming a few years down the line.

Would Eglish be a good long shot for the Senior Championship next season?

With McKenna back and McGleenan in charge and they have a host of very talented young players like Jordan, Donnelly and the two McGleenans another year older and experienced.

Definite long shot. Can't see them being good enough to challenge though I think they'll fare better in Div 1 this time. For me Galbally will be a team that can make the breakthrough. They've impressed me over the last couple of years and think they'll kick on this season.

Any word on what they plan to do with the league for 2022?
