Quote from: Easttyrone23 on June 08, 2024, 01:18:40 AMStewartstown must be aiming for the all Ireland junior title next year. Lost their first 3 and two of them were against fintona and Naomh eoghan who you'd expect to be around the bottom of the division. Even though they won against Naomh eoghan, When's the last time cookstown were even considered a mid table intermediate team? I can't think of another club who have been relegated and promoted as much as them over the last 10 years or so. Especially considering the quality and numbers they have had in youth football. Then the likes of gortin, aghyaran and Owen roes with a lot less numbers are able to compete in division 2 for years and aghyaran obviously at the top end of the table.

Townie teams innit. Hard to keep them at it.  Don't know what you'll get from one week to the next.

Stewartstown hardly a townie team as the vast majority of the players come from the local rural area. Might as well call Moortown a townie team while your at it.

If the Harps seniors don't pick up any points against Kildress and especially Drumragh at home in the next 2 games then it's probably bottom 2.

Is there any real difference between Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael at this stage? If there is I'd love to know.

Quote from: blanketattack on June 05, 2024, 01:49:48 PMIn hindsight rushing The Glen players back with Derry without rest seems like such a dumb move.
Actually, forget hindsight, at the time it seemed a dumb move.

It was 2 years in a row as well they didn't get a break. Gallagher played them in first league game v Limerick in 2023 so even more reason to rest them this season.

First of all I'm completely biased here and i know it. Cavanagh is quite probably the worst pundit in history. His lack of research is appalling, on a par with Spillane and Brolly, but he's just no loquacious enough to cover it up. He has an odd sense of humour. And his sense of place - I.e. talking about grassroots - always seems based on what he reads on Twitter rather than what's happening in an actual club.

So what did he say that's incorrect? From my perspective he's taking swipes and he doesn't have the foggiest what it is he's swiping at. He's just throwing out irrelevances. Joining in on conversation that he doesn't care much about, and accidentally taking it off on a new angle that nobody needs.

Worse than Tony Davis?

What is the big deal about what Cavanagh has said anyway?. The GAA has cash in the bank and is asset rich therefore some people might think it is a wealthy organisation. Bit of an over reaction from Burns IMO.

Should have been 3-0 when Hatate hit the post then they went up the field to make it 2-1. 3 points is all that matters.

Honestly didn't even realise McCurry was still on the pitch when he made that foul there.

The Man biting a young kid's ear at the World Snooker Championship. Very disturbing.

General discussion / Re: The far right

There's no doubt that an element of proper Far Right will try and infiltrate protests but just seen a clip of the residents of Newtown Mount Kennedy marching and it's a seriously large group of people. Are all those people 'Nazifascist'? Are they the ones that have blocked access to the local GAA pitch?

It also didn't look good the other night when Drew Harris's Riot Squad were intimidating people on their own property, it was like the troubles had moved to Wicklow.

Sorry state of affairs all around and it's the Irish Government that are completely to blame for creating this mess.

Same for the surgery I go to.

I'd go get your eyesight checked if I were you. The ref won it for you

Are you serious? 5 cavan high challenges unpunished by ref, phantom black card. 40 seconds extra played at end for cavan and the ref won it lol
Black card all day long for pulling down a player. And nothing to say about your final score? The keeper was fouled. That was a free out, not in. And wasn't Cavans last free not a black card and penalty for preventing a goal scoring chance under the new rules? You're being absolutely blind to how he won that for you

Just the 10 steps he allowed the keeper before he soloed and then took too long again. Not sure what the issue is there.
He was being fouled! Jeez like

You're joking surely

He gave Cavan more time than they should have got at the end for them to try and get an equaliser.
