Lampooned maybe not the correct word however it was a very personal attack.

Listened to both episodes and while no doubt the MH project now has its issues there was no need for what was a personal hatchet job.

Suffice to say if a public figure lampooned JB on a podcast or in any sort of media the Solicitors letter would not be far away.

Quote from: weareros on June 12, 2024, 01:07:17 PMUnionism played so dirty on this one. Future funding for Casement was suddenly responsible for the dire state of the health service and not the 100 years of Unionist/British misrule. Casement won't be funded and the health service will still be on its feet. I hope FAI insist that Ireland get one of the two automatic spots for Euro 28 (even if we are shite). Let GB decide how they want to allocate the other spot. That will soften their cough. Irish government/GAA should continue to fund a great stadium in Belfast. Decisions should not be made because crowds overall are down this year. It won't always be like that.

Won't it?

The way things are going , with  the championship structures, and  the inevitable devaluing of the provincial  (well, Ulster) championship, I'd imagine crowds  will go down  even more in the years ahead.

I think this  delay in Casement being built might be a blessing in disguise for  the GAA.  As 5times5times (so good they named him twice) said above , we don't need another white elephant

Quote from: Dougal Maguire on June 10, 2024, 05:07:21 PMI see Farage, whose party just a week or so ago agreed an alliance with the TUV, has endorsed Sammy Wilson and Ian Og, who Jim Allister will be standing against. Jim is disappointed. Great to see him being shit on from a height

Would not take long to count the brain cells among that lot.

Maybe the D'dee KC might get an endorsement come the next local elections.

I take it with GAA Go it is still a matter of plugging the laptop in to the TV?

I presume there is no direct way you can purchase it on a smart tv?

Quote from: Interstellar on June 08, 2024, 07:43:36 PMWell done to the minors today. Why doesn't McErlain take over the u21s to bring the minor talent on?

I'd say he is probably more content to be operating at this level. Had a very tough time when he managed the Seniors so understandably would be cautious about stepping up again above minors.

Hurling Discussion / Re: Offaly hurling discussion

Quote from: marty34 on June 03, 2024, 01:00:29 PMGreat win for Offaly in the game of the week-end. Some crowd and atmosphere in Nowlan Park.  Great for it to be acknowledged on the anniversary.

As for the game, a super game but Offaly always seemed to have the edged and finished strongly. They have a strong spine and some silky lads up top. A good few different scorers also.  It showed how many players (from the two teams) who were in the minor a few years back - a good majority are back which is good to see.

Good to keep them players on board as I think it's harder to keep them on board after minor level, so, both Offaly and Tipp, have done a good job.  Maybe it's easier when you're in a county panel that's having a bit of success.

Offaly are a county on the rise. Joe Mc Donagh (which always seems to be a good final) should also be a good one between Offaly and Laois.

Jarlath Burn made a great sppech at the presentation. Even told the Offaly captain twice to say Hip Hip Horray for the Tipp team.

It would be great to see them back competing at senior level again.

No guarantee that this will happen, I mind Limerick won 3 AI U21s back in the early 00s but the breakthrough did not happen for several years by that stage any that had made it through to senior were long gone.

Great to see a victory for Offaly bearing in mind how as a county they have fallen by the wayside in recent years.  Will definitely be in the shake up for honours next year as they are only losing 4 of the starting 15.

No doubt they have a strong panel but I noticed last night that one of the guys being taken off was far from happy with the management.  None of us like getting the curly finger from the side line but as the saying goes there is no I in team.

Is Robinson not just as guilty as Jeffrey?  He stood there with  Jeffrey when he sold his  big lie, and said nothing.

It's the loyalist working class they're trying to fool though and they're idiots

A fairly easy task I would imagine.

Quote from: marty34 on May 29, 2024, 09:16:31 PMThis is the type of candidate that SF are 'going after' now I think.  Moving away, to a certain extent, from the old guard. Pat is new blood, if you pardon the pun!

If she is successful, would she go down the route of Health Minister at some stage? She would have a better knowledge that most of this portfolio.

Maybe some long term planning here but needs to get elected first obviously.

Snapchat might know more?

Can't see her trading being an MP for MLA.

I would be surprised to see her around Stormount that much as she would have ability to make some of her colleagues (dare I say party leader) look very average in terms of how she can handle herself / comes across.

She would be an asset to any political party as she has done the heavy lifting in the real world unlike the rest of them.

Quite a close season signing by the Shinners...

She's been a member for years and years, would have been involved with canvassing and the like.

I get the impression that Unionists (and the media) have been blindsided by this.

I remember her saying that there should be a re-united Ireland as the health system would be a lot better...something like this?

Yes thats her. She's right.

Originally from Carrickmore I believe so no surprise she has got on board with SF.

From seeing her being interviewed over the course of the nurses strike she comes across well.  For SF she would have been a good person to have south of the border as they are a bit light when it comes to strong performers.  I imagine she will win fairly easy but as an abstaining MP she will not do a lot or be seen much after that.

The Armagh draw popped up on my Facebook feed the other day, £25 per ticket for a chance to win a house in Downings is good value compared to regularly paying £20 where max prize is £10k.

Seems to good to be true?

Western media going with 'Israel takes out 2 Hamas leaders' and 'used precision munitions' as their headline is beyond despicable.

Yeah, absolutely deplorable.

Anyone still sticking up for Israel at this point must be dead inside.
It's sponsored genocide. Netenyahu and his cohorts no better than Hitler's Nazis..

Absolutely 100% correct.

Hell will neve be full until that b@*tard Netanyahu and his cohorts are in it.

And yet people continue to play the antisemitism, poor Jews, like seriously.

No doubt this drum is being continually banged to detract from the reality / brutality what is going on.

Netanyanhu is no different that the b##tards who were in charge of Yugoslavia politically / militarily in the 90s.

Tendering contractors will probably low ball their tender on basis that no doubt that the design could change and that with the Client being under time pressures they will throwing whatever £££ is necessary to get it completed in time.
