The standalone day next Sunday to promote Tailtean Cup may not happen now. Wexford have a feile and and are asking the hurling double header to be moved to the Sunday. If this happens, the Tailtean double header gets moved to the Saturday along with the Sam maguire matches.

The GAA will demote the Tailteann semi finals, like they did last summer when they put the Mayo Galway game on at same time as the semis. Their so called promotion of this competition is a joke. As is RTEs, the Saturday game gave less than 5 minutes in total to 3 games and chat after . They didn't even discuss the Down v Wicklow game. Sound bites with music playing in the background. No analysis nothing. But that's rte and the gaa for you. They reap what they sow.

Unionism played so dirty on this one. Future funding for Casement was suddenly responsible for the dire state of the health service and not the 100 years of Unionist/British misrule. Casement won't be funded and the health service will still be on its feet. I hope FAI insist that Ireland get one of the two automatic spots for Euro 28 (even if we are shite). Let GB decide how they want to allocate the other spot. That will soften their cough. Irish government/GAA should continue to fund a great stadium in Belfast. The way things are going , with  the championship structures, and  the inevitable devaluing of the provincial  (well, Ulster) championship, I'd imagine crowds  will go down  even more in the years ahead.

I think this  delay in Casement being built might be a blessing in disguise for  the GAA.  As 5times5times (so good they named him twice) said above , we don't need another white elephant
