Hurling Discussion / Best keeper hurls
April 02, 2013, 08:44:53 PM
Hi, having problems with finding good keeper hurls. Many seem to be too heavy, due to size of bas or break easily just through pucking out.

Any suggestions on and good keeper hurls about, thanks.

GAA Discussion / dropping for the sake of dropping!!!
November 23, 2011, 11:12:18 AM
have noticed over the past couple of weeks, new inter county managers 'weilding the axe' on last years panels. But are these justified, or is it just a case of 'stamp' their authority by making big decisions that shock people. seanie johnston is one of the best forwards in Ireland and yet has been dropped from the cavan panel. New galway hurling manager has dropped players like damien joyce (last years captain) and Ger farragher (long range free taker) from his panel. Limerick manager John Allen has also made some surprising calls. These are some of the best players in ireland, never mind their own county. and yes I am all for change, if counties are not successful, somthing will have to change but i am gobsmacked at the exclusion of some of these players. I personally feel that that managers are just excluding people to show who is boss....Maybe these men are just on a power trip? maybe im totally wrong in my thought process! any other people have different opinions?

i am a big armagh man and was very dissapointed yesterday, not by losing but by the manner in which they lost. they really did throw in the towel and had no fight to get back into the game. this team is without doubt in transition, but there should be no excuse for pride and passion in the jersey, and i just feel this was an off day for armagh regarding their fight and hunger. have read through alot of the posts and disagree with a few things. kevin dyas is an exceptional player and to say that he doesnt care about armagh is just plain stupid, he needs to start the next game at wing forward. vincy martin is no where near county standard and shannon or young mekeown should be given the next start in defence. also what is in the panel at the minute is the best players in armagh at the minute...fact. yes, i have heard great reports about the minors of last year, grugan, tasker, king etc, but for god sake give them a chance to develop, before we take them into the county setup, they will be around for the next 15 years.

the referee was a joke yesterday, everything seems to be a yellow card, and many for nothing....on both teams. mcmanus, mone, toner, donaghy....all giving yellows for offenses that would warrant a tick never mind a yellow. and then the monaghan man who shouldered ak off the ball was giving a rightful yellow card.....so how can you compare yellow cards? the man hasnt a clue, he actually missed a couple of illegal handpasses....because he was looking to where the pass was going and not the man passing the ball...keep your eye on the ball you clown.

lastly to monaghan, fair paly, the team is in some shape, and playing good football, best of luck and hope you's win ulster!!!

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling
May 04, 2010, 05:59:46 PM
my armagh just launched on youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJuUTPPMY5c&playnext_from=TL&videos=njTxrFl6NZg&feature=sub

some good stuff on it, but is this just a football development thing?
no clips of hurling teams?
no clips of ladies football teams?
no camogie clips?
no club clips?
are these teams not as important to 'my armagh'...or is 'my armagh' just 'my armagh county footballers'?

GAA Discussion / mickey harte - dead man act
February 27, 2010, 01:58:42 PM
just read an article from yersterdays irish news, speaking about the joe mcmahon red card against mayo. he was quoted as saying the mayo player played the 'dead man act' to get mcmahon sent off. just thought it very funny considering his own players have used the old dead man act themselves to get players sent off. philip jordan with his snipper/dead man act in the 2003 all ireland final to get diarmuid marsden sent off. also brian mcguigans dead man act in the 2003 ulster final to get gregory mc cartan sent off. (didnt know a oneills football was that hard). mickey, justin timberlake released a good song that you may want to listen to a few times...what goes around, come around!!!

Hurling Discussion / Re: League Finals
May 05, 2009, 04:07:32 PM
sorry, maybe iv missed this out when reading other peoples posts, but everyone is talking about tommy walsh throwing the hurl but did no-one else see jj delaney doing the same thing when tipp scored their last goal in extra time. savage hurlers but childish fellas. surely throwing the hurl is warrant a yellow card at least.
