Title: GAA term ticket holder
Post by: Mary Matthews on January 14, 2026, 03:29:19 PM
Hi all
My family have bought 2 term tickets over the last 30 years (3 x 10 year for each one)
This deal included a ticket for both the football & hurling finals plus a replay if it happened and both minor finals on the same day - over a 10 year period.  A fair deal
After the new championship schedule the minor games are not included as now played on a different weekend
The same tickets are up for renewal. The offer now is only for 5 years but at the same price as before for 10 years ..... this works out that each ticket will now cost 250 euro!  I think this is exhorbitant and not sure how GAA can justify this?  If they want to stop this Term ticket then withdraw it but is seems they are trying to price us out! Anyone else out there have these Term tickets and what are your thoughts?

I've always thought the GAA should operate outside the principles of supply and demand. I care not whether we compete with rugby or soccer, and care not how or where we market our games, and care only that our association thrives within its communities.

So I agree with you.

The bigwigs though would tell you that the money they garner from capitalist/commercial activities allows them to drive down the cost of local club activities.

Personally I get a sense that it principally allows them to add new layers of paid bureaucracy to the association, and bigger salaries at the top for managing those layers.

So I suggest decline their invitation. Not that it'll matter. A corporate will pick your seats up before long.

Is it €250 a year?
Is it AI Finals only or all games in Croke Park?
