Title: Records of Championship winners Antrim
Post by: Northbelfastgael on October 15, 2024, 04:02:01 PM
A chairde,

Anyone know if there are any substantial records kept by the county on the winners of each championship?

Would be interesting to see how each team has fared as well as keeping records for posterity.

Those records aren't great, and a few entries are wrong.

Also, the intermediate and junior records are paltry.

Very good. You can always rely on Saffron Gael to do the things that the county should be on top of!

I had long wondered myself why they didn't have a page for the other two championships.

That's a great initiative and hopefully they can add it to Wikipedia.

With the intermediate champions to follow.

I don't ever remember seeing that link before. Interesting read.

I didn't realise Glenarm ever had a football team and Mitchells winning in 2001 surprises me as they really started to struggle for numbers etc in the noughties.

I thought there was a photo near the bottom that showed you as winners in 1930 and 1933?

Can anyone enlighten me on who O'Rahaillys, Morans and Gaffneys were? 3 clubs I'm not sure I've ever heard of.

This is great! I'd love to see one on the Intermediate winners, too, with paper clippings and pictures.

Would be worth while if the county could place records online to help people find out who has won what etc
