Final 7 December:
Fair play Ball Hopper.
Fwiw I would predict that Castlehaven come through Cork and win Munster Senior again, although 2 of the Cahalane's are serious doubts for their semi final Sunday I believe.
I think the winner of Austin Stacks v Laune Rangers replay in Kerry has a good shot at winning Munster Inter. The winner of Kilshannig v Iveleary should win Cork and will be a decent test for whoever comes through.
Ardfert or Firies will be favourites to win Junior but Canovee or Buttevant both have some quality players and would put it up to them.
Cork having winners of Tier 1, 3 and 5 really doesn't help the competitiveness of the lower grades.

Final 7 December:
Crokes v Castlehaven in Killarney in 2 weeks will be a good game now. Winner of that should win Munster and have a crack off the All Ireland.
There were some excellent games in Cork and Kerry at the weekend. The Cork Premier Intermediate final was an outstanding fast game between Kilshannig and Aghabullogue which ended in a draw. The winners of the replay will give the winners of the Kerry replay a good game.
The Kerry Premier Junior final wasn't as high quality but had an epic comeback by Firies to rescue a draw in normal time and then win it well in extra time.
Kilmurry will contest Munster with Firies now having overcome Canovee (a club in the same parish!) in the Cork Premier Junior Final.
They've been in Munster Junior club 3 years in a row bizarrely due to the circumstances. 2 years ago they won the Cork Junior A football - lost the Munster final to Fossa.
Last season they lost the final of the new Premier Junior final to St Finbarrs second team, but as second teams can't contest Munster Kilmurry went through and again lost the Munster final to Listowel. So this season they have a third tilt but will be up to Intermediate A in Cork.
Elsewhere Éire Óg had a comfortable win in the Clare final over Kilmurry-Ibrickane and I think they have a good chance of reaching the Munster final. Loughmore-Castleliney, having won the double in Tipp, will find it tough to keep winning you'd imagine. Adare or Fr Caseys from Abbeyfeale are in the Limerick final. Fr Caseys pitch is in Kerry interestingly.

I must say it's refreshing to see a humble Division 3 team come out of Kerry JFC this year! And a Division 2 team no less (albeit the mighty Stacks) in the Intermediate! Some of the Ulster counties could learn a thing or two.

Yeah great to see it.
Just shows how little league football means when Division 1 Ballymacelliot (Finished top 4 last year) haven't been able to win it the last couple of years.
Ah it just gives the Ulster chip on the shoulder lads something to keep them happily moaning about in mid Winter.

We'll just have to content ourselves with near enough every football title on offer being in Ulster for the winter ;)

4 out of last 5 winners of Kerry Junior have been division 3 teams. But of course League has nothing to do with Championship as any sensible person knows. ;D

You have senior, intermediate and junior league system. Same teams in senior league play senior championship, intermediate league teams play intermediate championship and junior league teams play junior championship
I'm guessing ye finish the League before the Championship starts?
Do(es) top team(s) in Inter League go into that years SFC?

Kerry Intermediate and Junior football Champions are doing really well. They produce great champions in Kerry! ::)
Quote from: From the Bunker on November 24, 2024, 11:05:28 PMKerry Intermediate and Junior football Champions are doing really well. They produce great champions in Kerry! ::)
Kerry's 3 Munster reps won their respective Championships as well as league divisions. Dr. Crokes won senior club and county championships (two separate competitions, beating Dingle in both finals) as well as Div 1 of the county league. Austin Stacks won intermediate championship and Div 2, while Firies won junior championship and Div 3.
Dr. Crokes did not win the East Kerry championship...the put out weakened teams in the two rounds they were in and were beaten by Kilcummin in the semifinal (Rathmore v Kilcummin final next week).

How are Kilmurry able to play in Munster Junior 3 years in a row? Bit of a joke that.
Quote from: clarshack on November 25, 2024, 10:16:47 AMHow are Kilmurry able to play in Munster Junior 3 years in a row? Bit of a joke that.
There lost a final to a club's B team one of the years (so didn't get promoted but because the B team wasn't allowed play in Munster Kilmurry went forward to play Munster) Then there was a regrading of the grades so was no promotion one year. Then won it again this year and finally got promoted. I might have the years of the loss to B team/regrading mixed up. It is a very odd situation all right.
The inequalities of the Munster Junior and Intermediate Championship are always fun to see play out. With kerry's system their 9th best club side enter into the Munster Intermediate Championship against sides that are 17th and 33rd strongest in other Munster counties. It's a great incentive for sides that win Junior and Intermediate titles in Kerry-they both have serious prospects of reaching an All-Ireland Final in Croke Park. Munster is normally foregone conclusion and then only have to win one game to reach the final.

Austin Stacks win intermediate final by 27 points. Stacks will walk this AI having only been in senior semi final a couple years ago.
Dr Crokes will have a handy game tomorrow game too.
Don't know, still think Ballinderry, if they come out Ulster, could give them a game.
Game today was a bit of a farce but the semi final v Kilshannig was a better indicator of form. Despite having a man sent off after 5 mins, Kilshannig weren't far off Stacks. And they are champions of the 3rd tier in Cork, not second.
Stacks are strong up to midfield but their forward line isn't stellar so there will be tests ahead I think.
If you told someone 15 years ago Stacks v Ballinderry would be an Intermediate game they'd say you were mental..

Don't forget Crossmolina on the other side. Won a senior All Ireland this century aswell.
Most stacked intermediate ever id say.
Was that flower of Scotland being played in the stadium before Crokes and Loughmore Castleiney 😅
Sounded like it on TG4
Ref is making a serious balls of this already.
Both teams playing their part in doing the same as well in fairness
Loughmore look very unnatural on the ball.
I've watched 5 minutes there. Football is shite
Dire stuff altogether, two poor enough outfits. Either EC or Kilcoo would relish playing either of them.

Wouldn't bet on it - they'd drag either down to their level.
Has a Tipp club ever beaten kerry club at senior level?Crokes pulling away now. Another Munster title for kerry club.
Some questionable calls here, Crokes should pull away here but bar Brosnan they haven't much
Jaysus, Kieran O'Leary still going. The class of White, Brosnan and, to a lesser extent, Burns, hiding the fact that Crokes are no great shakes.
I don't want to assume LC are a team of hurlers as everything written about them seems to suggest they're every bit as invested in football as hurling, but a large number of them, including all the county hurlers, look a bit rudimentary with the big ball in hand.
Burns loves a dive.
That lad complaining about the free he gave away needs slapped!!
Poor enough game. Too easy for Crokes.
Do TG4 activity look for Irish speakers to give the MoM award?
Brosnan was best player

Clonmel beat Nemo in Munster final a few years ago but I can't recall a Tipp team beating a Kerry team in Munster Senior club in my lifetime..could be wrong!
