Nett weekend sees the first Major of the year, everyone looking forward to McIlroy and Woods going head to head on the back nine on Sunday!
Going with Jason Day e/w at 40/1. Looks a decent bet
I think Tiger is gonna win this so gonna throw a few yoyos on him and also going with each way bets on.
Luke Donald @14/1
Adam Scott @33/1
Jason Day @40/1
Hunter Mahon e/w @ 35/1
John Senden e/w @ 200/1
Will be tough to shoot lower than either Tiger, Rory and/or Phil
Big Darren to eat the course up. And then have his starter.
Has Clarke automatic entry to all majors now since he won British Open?
Would wee Rory shit his togs again if it was he and Tiger fighting it out on the back 9 on Sunday?

No! he realizes Woods is a mere mortal and can be beaten, he is younger, hungrier and is simply better than Woody at this stage. ;)

I saw that on Sky last night.
Paddy Power is the devil at work, sucking people in to the thrill of gambling and getting them onto the downward slippery slope. On the other hand, a fantastic piece of statistical probability and marketing - wish I'd thought of that!

I really don't see anything this year so far that would make me put some money on Jason Day, but then what would I know.
I think outside of the big guns - the best bets include Mahan (2 wins in 2012), Keegan Bradley (multiple top 10 finishes, including at least 2 second places (I'm going of Sunday afternoon memory here)), I'd have a pop at GMAC before I'd pick Day this year. I like watching him and won't be annoyed if he proved me wrong - but I wouldn't be putting any money on him.
I think prior to Tiger winning last week it wouldn't have fazed Rory at all to be in a final pairing with him on Sunday - but Tiger beat a tough field at a very tough course by 6 strokes. He could well be back - and if he is, then these younger players would need to be very very alert.
If Phil can get the putter dialled in a little better this week, he will be in with a serious shout.
Sad that we most likely won't be seeing big Ernie Teeing it up at Augusta.
Only reason I'm going for Day is because of his major form at the end of last year and of course his form round Augusta last year where he very nearly was in a playoff finish.
Matt Kuchar has the head on him
Just done a few each bets with Paddy Power - backed Keegan Bradley, Dustin Johnson and Brandt Snedecker. Hopefully I'll get one of them in contention on Sunday night.

Dustin Johnson has pulled out due to a back injury.
Just noticed, cheers. I got a refund from PP. Need to decide on someone else! Hunter Mahan it is then.
I have a feeling I am wasting my cash this year as this is all set up for the top 10-12 players to shine but can't help going for some long shots for interest sake to start with and then some more bets on Friday night after the cut.
Gonna go Tiger on the nose for sure, he's back! KJ Choi 66/1, like the man's cool temprament which could certainly suit Augusta, Sergio might squeak a place too @ 60/1, Thomas Bjorn has been pretty solid this season so small stake @ 175/1
But saying that, Donald, Westwood, McIlroy, Mickelson, Rose, Scott, Bradley have got to be the ones to watch!
If I was a betting man, I would heap money on Keegan, McIlroy and Woods

it didnt look like he hit that from the tee box. It looked more like a chip in than a hole in one.
It's a certain hole during the practice rounds that is set up for skimming across the water on to the green. It's pretty cool but not a hole in one really. Vijay did it a few years ago as well!
What with sweeps, a syndicate between 7 of us and a few of my own outright bets, I feel like I now have money on everyone in this flippin competition. I even got some random Aussie who won the British Amateur last year - can't be bothered googling his name, as I'm sure I'll remember it if he wins.

Know nada about golf would follow your guy McWilliam's column in the Irish News now and again and he fancies Cabrera out of the long shots.
I've gone for Cabrera and Sang Moon Bae E/W.
Cabrera is out with Rory Mc and SMB is out with Tiger. Would be interested to see stats on how those who are out with the favourites on the 1st day generally get on. Obviously any player tries their best no matter what but if you're playing alongside a favourite you would think it would give you that bit of incentive/edge to really play, maybe not ...

Ropey start for Rory. Double bogey. 1 over now. Darren had a steady start but dropped two at the burger stand corner.
Some finish by Stenson, a lovely 8.
Stenson will be in need of a few physcology lessons this evening if he is to do anything tomorrow - 8 on 18 to blow a lead on day 1.
Rory needs to get the finger out with Amen corner coming up.
O'Neill it would be nice to see Jiminez get something going come Saturday and Sunday alright - hard to say what he will do.

They were saying it on the Setanta Ireland coverage.
That is very interesting about Donald. Per the US masters website he was 4+ at one stage (around amen corner), but after his round was finished it was posted as a 73, and his highest score for the day was 2+. I couldnt figure out what was going on til I saw carmens post and dug a little more. According to some twitter speak his card showed a birdie on #5, although he actually may have shot a bogey.
It's your playing partner that keeps your score - but you also are responsible for it - that is quite a 2 shot swing.
He is in the clear. The official scorer thought Molinari had recorded a 3 instead of a 5 but appears to be poor handwriting at fault.
So did he shoot 73 or 75??
Tidy finish by McIlroy.

Hanson is 4/1 and not doing a lot wrong. Phil was missing a couple of fairways but some great recovery shots brought him back.
I might hit Hanson for a £5 e/w for interest tomorrow.
Good thing is Hanson played with Phil already this week, but the crowds will be following Phil, hanson will need to be able to handle serious pressure.

Tiger Woods Won't Help Half-Siblings? (ABC News)
Tiger Woods' half-siblings say their calls for help from the golf superstar have fallen on deaf ears.
Woods' older half-sibling Kevin Woods has been battling multiple sclerosis and is now confined to a wheelchair. He needs a caretaker and is in danger of losing his San Jose home. Kevin's brother Earl Woods Jr. told ESPN's Rick Reilly that calls to their famous sibling have gone unreturned.
"I leave messages. I leave updates on Kevin, but for whatever reason I don't get a response. ... Kevin loves Tiger. A call from Tiger would really pump Kevin up. When he doesn't call, it just makes him feel worse," Earl Woods Jr. said.
Woods' rep did not immediately respond to ABCNews.com's request for comment.
Earl Woods Jr., Kevin Woods, and their sister Royce, share the same father, Earl Woods, as Tiger. They are the offspring of Earl Woods' first marriage to Barbara Gary.
The Woods siblings remained close with their half-brother until he turned "about 15 or 16," and his star started to rise, Earl Woods Jr. said. Since their father's death in 2006, the half-siblings have been unable to contact Woods at all. No one seems to know the reason for the rift.
Now Kevin Woods needs his famous brother's help, Earl Woods Jr. says.
"Nobody's asking for money here, but [a caregiver] really would be nice for Kevin. It would make Kevin comfortable. He wouldn't have to leave his house. ... But we'd at least like to be able to find out how Tiger is, to find out if he's OK, and to let him know if we're OK," Earl Woods Jr. told Reilly.
Barbara Gary Woods, Earl Woods' first wife, told Reilly, "I'm very disappointed in Tiger. Before he got all famous, they were in touch a lot."
Earl Woods Jr. was more vehement.
"I'd like to [slap] Tiger, wake him up. I'd like to say, 'Don't come knocking on the door when you need a bone-marrow transplant.' To see this is the response we get? Maybe when you see the world like he does, you don't see what other people are going through. But, seriously? You've got problems with your knee? That's nothing compared to what Kevin is going through. Nothing," he said.
Mahan's the man in form lads . . . He'll win by 2 with Phil having problems with the big stick tomorrow!!

Even if we raise a half million this year it's still half a million."
He'll be able to do some good now with that prize money.
Seems like a good fella. He has a black and pink Merc to go with the clubs.

Does he still have the shrimp company?
He is Bubba from Bagdad. Feck all shrimp in Iraq Forrest.
I wonder did he bring the General Lee to Augusta? Sentiments would fit right in.

Great win. Bubba's a real star. No pretentious shit with him.
Well said, an honest man who as far as I know is well liked and respected amongst his own. (No better testament) I thought he behaved well in the Butler Cabin afterwards when those self righteous pr**ks on the Tv were expecting him to crack up "Mrs Doubtfire" was there ever a man better named?? Butch Harmon and his "Brand New Baby" quote WTF.
It would be good to think this was the start of a resurgence of Harrington's career. Tee to green apart from the 18th he must have had the best stats of the leading players yesterday.
Thought his interview on Sat night was interesting. He was 4 under and seemed to suggest he would rather be 4 or 5 shots behind on Sunday than 2 or 3 as there would be less pressure. Was playing really well until the 8th yesterday and then started underhitting his putts.
By the way have BBC sacked that clown who mentioned to Tiger he had only won 3 Masters titles. Talk about schoolboy errors.

It was, but you'd think he took a dump on the Pope's Prada slippers the way people have reacted.
