Title: The Christmas works party. Good or Bad?
Post by: Milltown Row2 on December 10, 2011, 10:28:59 AM
With the parties in full flow at the minute, I was wondering are they still well attended and do staff still have a fling on these nights out?

Brought this up cause I heard of one the other week, teachers apparently are the worst for it ;)

Ours is next week, the bosses pay for the 3 course meal and free drink all night. But we still have the 2 or 3 people who never turn up, no brainer for me

I think it's good to go out and spend some time with colleagues, outside of the office environment. It's all about knowing what time to leave, especially if you're senior / manage staff.

Would say a lot of employers shy away from it due to the cost and HR nightmares.

Was in the paper this week that 1 in 4 people will at some stage have a drunken tackle at the Christmas work do. We had ours last week. I got touched up by a transvestite. Not sure if that counts.

Ours was last week, didnt go to it because I thought some of the managers were pricks and probably would have said something.
