Scored against An Cabhan at Kingspan Brefni Park, might have been Brennan's first league game, it came at the death and won the game, as Louth went on to win the Division 2 title... Enjoy :)

Better goal than O'Sullivans. What year was that anyway?
From the image you can see that Brennan was on his own, running onto a rolling ball ahead of the goalie. You'd expect him to score a goal in those circumstances and he had a variety of choices. Besides what he did, he could have kicked it on the ground, taken it around the goalie on the ground, picked it up, etc.
Darren on the other hand had 3 Limerick backs and the goalie around him, the pass was in the air and behind him as he was running past so he had just an instant to react and flick it to the net.
So in my opinion Darren's was better, as 99 times out of 100 it wouldn't have been a goal, while for Brennan's a lot of forwards would have scored a goal in a similar position as below.

2006
I've a headache after listening to that...
Pure fluke - he didn't mean it ! ;)
It's much easier to do it when the ball is rolling along the ground.
The ball was in the air for O'Sullivans.
It's much harder to score when the scorer is rolling along the ground. Now there was a special goal.
The thing i love about that Louth Goal is how close the keeper was to him and it was probably the only way to beat him imo. The keeper had the side foot well and truly covered.
There were defenders closer to O Sullivan but the keeper was stuck to his line meaning most of the goals was open leaving more room for the finish. 2 amazing goals and probably of equal merit in different ways.
Its great to see genuis at work, thanks for the post Louth Exile.

There's something quite manly about a lad just throwing the ball into the net.
"There you are, now put up that fckin flag."
Back-heeling a goal on the other hand strikes me as a bit cowardly and effeminate.
