Does anyone else find the advert for THE SUN on the board nausiating? I remember seeing it on the Canal End at Croke Park and was disgusted after all its anti-Irish tirades down the years.

if the paper wasnt mentioned on the board I dont think the advert would be there. I may be wrong, but this has been covered somewhen on here.

At tea break time the typical Sun reader will go to page 3 and then go to the back page to see how "Man U" or "The Pool" did...paper read... done and dusted.....oh hold on a minute...he'll also take it for a walk to the bogs at lunchtime to concentrate on Page 3 a wee bit more....believe me I have seen these people in action >:(

Fckn hate the SUN, I remember borrowing a copy on a plane from Dublin to Faro, the person did not want their paper back so I held on to it. When we got to Portugal one of the lads bought a copy of the paper not knowing I had one already (same day edition). It was sick to compare the two versions, the edited Irish version and the British version with several anti-Irish articles removed including a page on the Worlds Best Paddy Jokes (of course it was covered off by saying the Irish don't really mind these jokes, they know its just fun) then Why O Why was that page omitted from the version sold in Ireland. Maybe because they knew they where racist and the Irish really really do mind.
If there was a licence on reproduction, people who have read the Sun more than 3 times or watched more than two episodes of Big Brother should be disqualified from applying.
Pure and utter gutter journalism, i wouldn't buy it to save my own life. I just can't understand how anyone in Ireland can buy this trash.
On a related note i had occasion to read the Sunday Life last week. what a load of pure dung, how anyone could pay for this nonsense is beyond my understanding. The readers must have no intelligence to insult.
Also while i'm on the subject does anyone else think that the Irish News is starting to seriously dumb down with idiotic nonsense more suited to a red top. In particular i'm thinking about the weekly columns from Marie Louise McCrory and Maeve Connolly. 'Gaa hunk of the week' FFS. Complete soporific drivel. This isn't a sexist rant as i quite enjoy Anne Hailes, Fionuala O'Connor and even Bimpe Archer on occasion.
