Option 3: Tokyo

Option 4: Madrid

This has been the BIG story herein Chicago for over a year, vote for where you would like to see the games and give a reason.
Think Obama's arrival this morning in Copenhagen will have a major impact. Madrid will not get it as they will not be in europe 2 times in a row.
50/50 between Rio and Chicago according to the bookies. The other two look to have no chance. I hope Rio get it, the States have already had 4 games.
The states have had it too often IMO.
Tokyo....because it is safe and the quality of the organisation will be exemplary. Plus, the infrastructure is already in place so it will not be Montreal '76 all over again.

Twice in the last 70 odd years is too often?
has it not been in LA and Atlanta in the last 25 odd years?

If they get it again it'll be 3 times in just over 30 years. At that rate of going nearly every American athlete will have a home Olympic games to look forward to at some point in their career.
Rio
Pro- 1st time Olympics held in South America
Cons- will host world cup in 2014 world cup, high crime/murder rate, bigger budget then any other city, most visitors will have to be housed on boats.
Madrid
Pro- 85% of residents want the games
Cons-it will be hot in August and the games will just be held in Europe/London.
Tokyo
Pro- want to be a "Green Game" site, money support and crime no problem and all games within 5 mile radius.
Cons- 56% of residents don't want it held there and Asia/China just hosted the 2008 games.
Chicago
Pro- the marketing/tv rights would make the most profit, residents in favor 67%, Obama and Oprah pushing for the games, all seats from stadiums will be used for wheelchairs in the future, the lakefront and I might find work ;).
Cons- sites spread out, summer humidity and alot of anti US sentiment world wide due to W.
Chicago OUT in first round of voting :'(, Rio & Madrid still in the running.

Dunno, Sammy Maguire backed them so I am for Madrid :P
Rio looks like the site, now there will be a game site for each ring.
I wouldnt go near Rio for these games, the crime there is unbelievable at the minute.
Rio a shoo in. Brazil host the 2014 World Cup and are guaranteed a good level of infrastructure for this. Also, Europe is getting the 2012 Olympics.
Official, its Blame it on Rio.
Rio can clamp down on crime for a few weeks, just as Beijing clamped down on pollution.
The IOC selection committee make Clay Davis look like Mother Teresa.

Just about to head out on the beer and this news has made it all the more enjoyable ;D
Well it looks like Brazil is way behind in getting their act, construction, crime and logistics together in time for the games. There is a possible move to London for the games. More money has gone into pockets than into the projects and the IOC is fuming over the project at this stage and is babysitting the Brazilians to make sure work is being done.

There are concerns also for the World Cup as they have three stadiums not ready yet.

Blame it on Rio!!
