It is. Watched first episode last night and thought it was excellent. From the reviews I've read it seems to be going down well with farmers and non-farmers

I watched Tehran on Newbridge Exile's recommendation, I thought it to be excellent viewing, in the genre of The Bureau (French).

Well worth it, a little slow in the beginning but one of the best I have seen. Smoking hot Keri Russell does not hurt.

Sophie a murder in west Cork on Netflix is worth a watch. Bizarre in many ways, from a key witness retracting an initial statement, Bailey was an eccentric character, Sophie seen a ghostly figure,  which legends believe result in imminent death, the French courts conviction in absentia, the gross incompetence of the Gardai & many other fine details. Baileys partner Jules sticking by him despite his erratic & violent behaviour, she left him in April of this year.
Mad stuff altogether, fact is stranger than fiction.

Surprised this hasn't got a thread of its own. Intriguing story with so many questions and bizarre characters.

It all hinges on that shopkeeper who retracted her statement.

She was the one who came forward in the first place, she stood by her statement for years, complaining, on camera, about him threatening her.

Then she suddenly turns around and retracts it, claiming there was no intimidation whatsoever?

Bailey might not have been convicted, but surely there was enough grounds there to put him on trial in Ireland, at least before she retracted her statement?

Huge amount of English people living in the West Cork area taking part in the documentary. Maybe the locals were keen to avoid the limelight or possible intimidation by Bailey. If Bailey is innocent his life has been ruined.

The Netflix show didn't do him any favours.

Whether its a true representation of the facts, I've no idea.

However, he was convicted in absentia in France (albeit with no defense presented - although you'd have to wonder why not?), while he lost both civil suits he brought before and after Ms. Farrell's retraction.
