They are the reason for Biden not being able to get common sense legislation through.

Trump and the GOP ARE putting the people and legislation in place to steal the next presidential election and they will likely succeed, especially as there are no obvious broad-appeal candidates around on the Democratic side who would win at the level needed to overcome such theft.

3. Hate Manchin and Sinema all you want (although I don't what the f**k Sinema's deal is; I don't know if anyone outside those who have presumably bought and paid for her do), but they're the only thing currently standing in the way of Mitch McConnell being back in charge and the GOP running all of the committees. There is simply no liberal Democratic majority to be had in the US Senate given the undemocratic design of that chamber. Its either the likes of Manchin or its a Trump whackjob. That's the choice, and its also the choice for three or four other states. Manchin is protecting his seat, and he's done so successfully for years in a very conservative state. Progressives can either rein in their ambitions or they can blow their wad on legislation which will either not pass the Senate or which will see them booted out of office and the legislation either revoked or simply not enforced by a GOP-controlled executive.

Manchin and Sinema are the very people who are blocking comprehensive federal voting rights and climate legislation.

They are an integral part of the problem.

When the Republicans steal the White House in 2024, they will have enabled it.

Progressives are rightly extremely angry with them, because progressives actually care about things like democracy and the future of the planet.

Those who are branded as "extreme" on the left are in fact moderates. The so called "moderates" are the extremists.

The American Nazi party exists on a different spectrum entirely. Blood sucking mortal enemies of humanity would be a kind description.

The problem from what I have seen and read is that some teachers are going rogue and teaching pretty crazy stuff. If parents object they're being told to sit down and shut up and are accused of being racists (Google it and you'll find lots of examples)

While not officially teaching CRT, some districts are using the same materials and research that underpin CRT  to teach other classes on things like diversity and inclusion

They're teaching  CRT, just calling it something else

Sid-if you lived here, you'd know that the taxpayer (in the town) pays the salaries of the teachers, the principals and the school superintendent (in my town the Superintendent makes $172K)

Parents have every right to go to a school board meeting and voice concerns if they object to something that's being taught to their kids.  For the Democrats, their fall back position is that if you do that-you're a racist and a bigot, and while some concerned parents are racists and bigots, most are not.


What's interesting about what happened in Virginia, is that College Educated white people switched in large numbers from Democrat to Republican. These aren't toothless rednecks hanging on every word Fox News tells them. They know exactly what's being taught to their kids and they don't like it

(BTW-many of them voted for Obama twice and voted for Joe and Kamala just last year)
