Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling
July 30, 2009, 12:15:15 AM
was at the match myself tonight lads and we were lucky to get out of jail after being brought down to the level of cullyhanna and under performing ourselves.  This was obviously their tactic from the off and it almost worked out for them.
Clans forward line didnt get going at all while cullyhanna dominated around the middle, with their number 15 scoring some cracker frees from distance.

My view of the sending off incident.
The cullyhanna number six was flattened by a late tackle around the middle as play went on with cullyhanna attacking.  He received some treatment and got up in a rage about the late tackle.  He then proceeded to mark his man and play continued.  I decided i would watch what way he reacts instead of followig play.  He clearly began standing down the backs of his markers ankles and then bit him on the shoulder.  The clans man imeadiately swung but missed him with his right then caught him with his left.  Clearly both deserved to go but the linesman (not the ref) only saw the punch.

I personally thought the ref was average but began to lose control towards the end.  The ref certainly wouldnt have lost us the match...

My first time seeing U2 last night and I must admitt I thought the whole concert was brilliant. Really enjoyed it. I agree that it was a poor choice of song to end on but sure. They should have finished on with or without you.

On a side note I was in the big tree bar before the concert were there was a live band doing a U2 tribute. They were also excellent!

if you don't like fileshare websites download this
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-MP3-Converter.htm
which rips the song out of a youtube video and saves it as an mp3. Worked fine for me and you have the advantage of seeing what version of a song it is first plus get more obscure stuff that you can't find a download for elsewhere.

i heard about this last night and think i'll give it a go. is it easy to use? also can i easily then transfer these files onto my itunes?

The usual big 4 love-in. Its nearly as bad as the Kerry - Dublin love-in on the GAA episode on The Late Late Show.

if this is a dream team thing then obviously a few cheaper but valuable options would have to be considered ie the like of stephen ireland, lescott, young, keane etc

obviously not the best in the league to would do a job

Paul Carville is certainly a good footballer and a fine free taker from the ground for a small lad. am i right in saying he goes missing from the tir na nOg team when training starts thus he prefers his soccer... i could well be wrong on that though.

Does he play for Linfield possibly?

glenavon i think
Paul Carvill plays for glenavon, would love to see him get a run out for the county. McAllister plays for linfield, if he wanted it he could make county team.

Got them mixed up alright.

again mcAllister is a good footballer and would be worth a try if committed but does he not (like Paul) go missing for his club when the soccer season starts?

So lads, in terms of addressing our scoring problems, are there any suggestions out there (from your own club) that you feel should be on the panel? As a Harps man, I believe Peadar Toal & definetly Gareth Swift have the talent to contribute something in the forwards

the clans have recently been struggling for a scoring threat so not from us IMO
should lads in cross like micky mcnamee and john murtagh not be given a chance. they come up with some big scores for cross...

i agree we need to move away from only having 3 scoring forwards out of six.  I dont mind one ball winner/third midfielder but three is too much.
also the players need to recognise their strengths and weaknesses in my opinion.  Its clear that some people can shoot and some obviously cant.  If you know you are a weak shooter dont be trying to slice a shot off the outside of your boot from forty yards ffs. Maurice Fitsgerald would have struggled with it  ::)
i think we all know who the weak shooters are...
Now i'm not saying if there is a perfect oportunity on dont take it but use some common sense.

He certainly doesn't splash twenty million on one player but he did spend ten on milner. I think the main priority is to replace laursen and Barry. Personally I think a top quality centre half should be first.

Use are linked with Titus Bramble this morning.

::) that sums it up for me

Right is it just me or should mon be starting to get his finger out? I'm seeing other clubs strengthening their squads over the last few weeks but not us! Are villa going to be left behind? It was clear we needed more depth at the end of last year but nothing has been done about it. We don't seem to even be linked with anyone of note???
