From reading the paper this morn I was surprised to see that Packie McConnell never won an All Star not to mention never even been nominated for one.  Crazy considering the save that basically won them the All ireland in 08. 

He only played the final that year. John Devine had a bereavement so didn't play.

On another note, what do people make of Paddy Tally going to work with Kerry?

Is Tally based in Galbally or Belfast?

You'd need to be getting 50k+ a year to make that in anyways tolerable with the amount of commuting and work involved. It would be a minimum 10 hr round trip to go down to Kerry and back.

Must be serious money involved for Tally to take it? Is he going to pack the lecturing in for a year? You'd imagine he will have to.

Could be lecturing from home maybe?

The price of a pint is away mad in Belfast.

I was in both Belfast & Dublin over the weekend.

Belfast Friday night I ordered 2 pints of Guinness - £11.20
2 Guinness in Dublin  on Saturday was €10.80 (£9.15)

£5.60 for a pint in Belfast (not in the city centre) is mad. Surely this can't be the norm? Belfast has historically never been near Dublins prices, never mind a pound a pint more expensive.

What would the price of a pint be in everyone's locals be at the minute? Mine is £3.90 which I thought was bad enough.

Name and shame? Not the old Chester by any chance? Still around 3.50 in the Rock Bar anyway 

A bar at the lower end of Stranmillis road. All pints were £5.60 except peroni which was £6.00. A bottle of Coors was £4.90. I thought we were still 25 years away from £6 pints lol

Working fine here. Clonoe just about hanging in by their finger nails. Errigal could be 20 points ahead.

Keegan the only nailed on All Star for Mayo. Maybe Ryan O'Donoghue as well.

Ruane is also nailed on in midfield.

If his final performance doesn't go against him then yes, but he was poor on the biggest day of all.

Kerry and Dublin are hamstrung by the fact that they failed to beat any Div 1 team in the Championship. Mayo beat 2, Tyrone beat 3 (and Mayo).

O'Sullivan and Clifford get theirs on the basis of their performances against Tyrone. P Clifford and S O'Shea struggled against Tyrone and were dominated by Meyler and Hampsey.

R O'Neill gave the best individual display this Championship against Monaghan.

It's easy to give them out to Tyrone this year as they had to beat numerous good teams - reigning Ulster champs, 3 division 1 teams and last years AI runners up.

I've a feeling McNamee will be done out of another all star, he deserved one in 2015 too but was overlooked there.

Rian O'Neill has zero chance. One decent game in an Ulster semi doesn't cut it. He's in there as a token gesture to Burns. Mind you an All-Star nomination itself is probably the biggest achievement for Armagh football in over a decade. Well done the Orchard.

If he was playing for Kerry he'd be rated as highly as David Clifford. Fully deserves that nomination.

If he was playing for Kerry he'd have played in the AI semi final ffs and maybe would deserve a shout! Having a good game while exiting the Ulster semi against a team that's never even won a championship game in croker never mind got near an AI hardly warrants an all-star nomination. Let's get real.

Eglish were very good tonight but we were absolutely awful. Woeful all over the field. Got nothing from the county men. As bad a championship performance from us in years. Serious questions to be asked about the lack of fight! The sad thing about it is we missed enough chances to be alot closer to eglish.

The county men have done their stints at the well for this year.

Any team that loses by a point in extra time to the county champions must be shite alright!
