GAA Discussion / Are Tyrone Finished
May 19, 2014, 06:43:52 PM
It appears that the wheels are shortly to come off

Dont want to slate or name players for criticism as all players are giving 110 %

But i was  impressed by mccrory apart from him the defence was porous, caused by the half back and midfield not following runners

Full forward line has potential but no real ball winners

Half forward line extremely poor

Cant expect Gormley the mcmahons and Cavanagh to be there forever,  looks like the bubble is going to burst.

LONG TIME SINCE 2008

Not from Tyrone but have heard their is some excellent players at club level who MICKEY doesnt pick

GAA Discussion / The HUG tackle
May 01, 2014, 12:09:35 AM
Les Kiss the coach of the Irish rugby team invented the CHOKE TACKLE

Why not implement the HUG  TACKLE in  gaa like a bear hug

as long as the player tackled does not fall to the ground , you cant get a black card only a yellow

seems like the way to go

teams can practice on fit females who volunteer for the cause :P

GAA Discussion / New ALL Series
April 30, 2014, 02:43:57 PM
The NFL should be abandoned in favour of playing the Provincial Champs then the  ALL IRELAND STARTS

Championship

Format:
4 groups of 6 counties,
All teams in the group play each other with top 2 from each group going to a quarter final from then on straight knockout as per usual
This method would give every county a decent amount of championship games and if feel more entertaining than what we have
Teams that finish bottom playoff to retain Status , Losers drop to Lower League

The remaining 9/10 counties play in a single league with the top 2 teams each year promoted to All Ireland Series
The  smaller teams would get more game time and be able to develop in order to compete in the All Ireland Series
