Tom Hargreaves appointment is a very good and important one. Does anyone know if he will have an input into all teams in both codes?

I read yesterday there's only 2 Laois lads playing Sigerson this year, Byron and Galvin. Bad return considering the number from other counties like Offaly playing. Sigerson is a very high standard and you'd hope more of our lads would get exposure to it. We need to keep improving our underage teams and hope the increase in GPO will lead to this

Seniors back training? Any word of a training panel? Hopefully some Port lads commit over the next few weeks, deserve a well earned break

Tom Hargreaves with an interesting and very important role. Great to have full time positions for such a role. Anyone know if this covers all the development squads of both codes?

Cathal Bennett another Humps, he's brilliant. No bullshit or dirt with him, just a great defender

2 great players who would have graced a Laois team of any era. I hope both are involved with Laois in some capacity down the line.

When John was minor, wasn't he involved with something ridiculous like 13 teams between football and hurling, county, club and colleges?

I just hope the players show some pride and give Westmeath a good rattle. I hope management have a better structure and gameplan in place.

Anyone want to hazard a guess on the team? Westmeath after Cavan are probably favourites to win it out so wouldn't be throwing in all the young lads but would be nice to see some pace added to the team

You are right Laois Rising, same narrative every time. Laois football at an all time low. A review was done a few years ago to improve Laois football, how many of those items have been actioned?

Ideally we should look to youth next year and use division 4 to build a team. I believe Billy did ask likes of Saunders, Diarmuid Whelan, Coffey etc in but they turned him down. Does it need a Micko type to get everyone to commit? For me, I would rather the resources were pumped into underage to produce competitive teams.

On the game itself, how a team can concede that amount against a division 4 team is hard to fathom and that lies with Billy and how he had the team setup. I know they're injuries and lads not available but you've to play the cards you're dealt with to get a win.
