Very impressed with Omagh's spirit yesterday. 4 down at half-time, they came back and blew Donaghmore off the pitch with a 15 minute blitzkrieg in the last quarter. Some magnificent scores taken. Young McKenna was plucking them out of the air for the visitors, but they seemed to tire badly towards the end. Errigal away next up for Omagh. Very tough.
Its east to fade when time and time again the referee dosent let the best team on the pitch pull away, admittedly Omaghs ezqualiszing goal was a catalogue of errors.  On a plus point Omaghs a strong side and are a decent enough dark horse this year,  I would have had many fears when I seen Justy Mc moving onto Niall Mc Kenna but what a performance by Niall, winning that hands down -  he must have taken 5 or 6 above him in the second half alone, a great battle.  I always thought he was a few years away but maybe he'll progress quicker.

Aw to think what aughers midfield could have been - Aidy Cass and Niall McKenna   :o

I have not heard anything of him for while. What way is Aidy Cassidy now injury wise?

" You are also not permitted to play in the reserve championship if you are/were a member of the Tyrone senior, under 21 or minor football championship squads, the latter only added this year I believe."

I can understand this ruling for County Senior and U-21 footballers but not every County minor will have established himself on his club's senior team. A combination of their age (first year with their club senior panel) and the County minor training / first round championship in May clashing with Club championship first rounds means that very few will be playing Club Championship first rounds especially if they are with Senior clubs.

We had a particularly impressive group of minors in the County last year and off hand I can only recall Kyle Coney, Niall McKenna and Peter Harte playing Senior championship.

How many of this years minors played Senior or Intermediate championship football this year?
I am leaving out Junior as a good minor will more easily make the breakthrough there.

Coalisland or Dromore ?

Moortown or Edendork ?

I'm going for Dromore and Moortown to advance to the next round.

ME TOO !

Dromore not going well based on their recent results. If they were up against any other team that is still in the championship I could see them slipping but not against Coalisland.

Dromore and Moortown to go through.

Rumour doing the rounds that Championship Q Finals will be played 1st weekend August. Any truth?

Think you may be getting your Championships mixed up. All Ireland QF's not Tyrone QF's are on that weekend.

Is the reserve championship draw independent of the Senior draw after the first round?
I had though teams followed the same path for the first 2 rounds.

Can't fins the relevant posts but a few Tyrone posters suggested the Ballinderry boys could switch allegiances south of the Ballinderry river.

Now I know that is not a realistic proposition but could Ballinderry, in theory transfer to the Tyrone leagues?
Would it be as simple as the Tyrone board saying aye come on in or would they need released by Derry?
As the grounds are held in trust by Croke Park would they need clearance from there?

Ballinderry will not be using their pitch for the next 6 months
Coalisland need a pitch for their home games for the next 6 months
A marriage made in heaven!!! ::)

whens the deadline?

Yeah check the deadline, I remember last year there were people picking teams but if they had just waited til the deadline then extra matches would have been played thus reducing the amount of teams to pick...

Good call, the Derry runners should have thinned out after this weekend (and we will know the result of the Derry appeal. Also Dromore v Coalisland in Tyrone next Friday so worth holding off 'til then.

I think Mickey has done alright with his panels so far. ;)

From what I remember he did not rush too many of the Dromore players in after they won the previous year but instead sat back and took stock before bringing in the likes of Shaun O'Neill this year. It may be he is wants to be sure he isn't looking for consistency of form rather than one season wonders. That is not meant to disrespect any of the Clonoe lads but perhaps a second season at the tops of their game would see them break through.

I think football matches between the various townlands in a parish would be a good idea.

That might be something for Errigal to consider!!! ??? ???
