I think those two Kerry lads behind the goal put Bruno off his penalty.
Absolutely!

It's not overly important to me but I couldn't get the Creggan result anywhere which is why I posted here.

I see saffron Gael have report up now. Glenravel big shock in junior

Sean Kelly spoilt us all with the quality  and depth of his coverage of all aspects of Antrim GAA . The current PRO hasnt kept to that standard unfortunately...hard act to follow !

IMO most clubs in Antrim do a superb job of promoting their teams, be it through twitter, Facebook or Saffron Gael. Antrim County also provide a good service with their live games. If you are still waiting on the Irish news for the scores on a Monday morning I don't know how you are capable of posting on here.
And always remember, nothing beats being there!!
It was just a thing, to see how other clubs , in other counties were doing, at a glance

The group stages are not really the problem. The problem is starting a competition in early August with 2 games in 4 days. Then large gaps between games with the quarter finals not even starting until end of October. Tickets are limited so we can't even go to matches yet and very few games are streamed. All pretty poor really. The coverage of games is also poor. Great games that you'd barely know are on.

If people want to change the system then you need to get your clubs to submit a motion.

Tbh I think the coverage is good. Mainly due to the saffron Gael and not the county board mind you but I get to read plenty. I would follow most clubs on Twitter and tend to get good live score updates too.

* Except for live coverage mind you which was excellent last year.

Compare the Antrim Championship coverage in the Irish News/Gaelic Life to say Down or Tyrone. It is tiny. I'm told it will increase from Quarter final stages but generally the coverage for group games is poor.

Have you seen the games covered live on Paric TV? Saffron Gael would be the only news reports that I'd look at tbf and they do this right down to juvenile levels league and Championship.. I'm confused as to what more coverage you are looking for tbh

Saffron Gael is excellent and do great work. My point is that the group games at all levels in Antrim are largely ignored by mainstream GAA media such as Irish News and GL. There has been some cracking games from what I hear but you have to look hard to find anything on them.
You mustn't of seen the Irish News today, big spread on the two championships Creggan left behind  ;)

The Irish News completely ignore all intermediate and junior leagues for the past while. It used to carry every result from each county on a Monday. No longer is that the case, which is a real shame

A player red carded, or two yellow cards or a yellow card followed by a black cannot play in extra time, never could. the team can start with 15 players, but none of those players sent off in normal time... their offences would need to been seen before a CCC meeting to determined their offence and ban..

The yellow cards from the 'normal' games are squashed.. so it seems even the keyboard warriors are unsure of the rules..

as for applying them wobbler that's down to the referee, his call his interpretation of the rules, not your interpretation of the rules. If you'd like to carry out that function on the pitch for your county then they would love to have a man that knows it all and be able to carry it out correctly

Here is one for you and happened in the London Intermediate final last
Weekend, a player was black carded 2 or 3 minutes before the end of normal time, game went to extra time but given he has only 3 minutes of his 10 minute spell served should he have been allowed to start extra time or not?

His black card ended at the conclusion of full time.
Extra time is deemed a new game, which is why teams can start with 15. A new team sheet is given to ref at inter county  games !

Weíre the groups not just introduced to give clubs more games due to Covid? Then kept this year so they could play the league without county players and give teams a chance to bed county players back in before knock out? Look at intermediate, massive groups with dead rubbers the last few rounds, call me old fashioned but having dead rubbers isnít championship football for me. For me 2 teams going all out to get through to the next round, not 1 already out just fielding a team and the other going flat out.

Davitts v St.Terseas is the only game in the IFC that has  nothing riding on it.

Why was the original Gnm  v carey match called off? The match should have been played before the final round of games.

It'll be interesting to see next year can Tyrone finally do 2 years back-to-back. Even getting to the final in consecutive years would be a new horizon for them. Cavan and Down are the only 2 Ulster counties who've managed to retain Sam Maguire so it's now 60 years since an Ulster county has done so.

Good teams win Sam Maguire. Great teams retain Sam Maguire.

Tyrone would have a long way to go to be spoken off in the echelons of Ulster aristocracy.

Tyrone are one behind Cavan & Down in titles. They'll soon be overtaking them !

Cavan won their last Sam in the 50s and owe their success to the establishment of Norn Irn , the shock that followed and the lack of competition in Ulster. So Tyrone may pass them out.

Down are different. They didn't require any artificial political stimulants. They won't be stuck on 5. If Tyrone pass them out they will respond in due course.

Did Tyrone ever beat Dublin in an all Ireland final ? For  connoisseurs of the game, beating  Dublin would rate well above beating Armagh and Mayo.

So Tyrones AI titles in 2003 and 2021 donít mean as much because they didnít beat Dublin or Kerry in the final?

There you go then, more All Irelandís with an asterisk  ;D

2003 - handy All Ireland
2005 - a back door All Ireland
2008 - another back door All Ireland
2021 - the Covid bluff All Ireland

You might as well say Tyrone have never yet won the All Ireland

Nobody remembers who you beat , but they know how many times youve won it

Down wont win Sam in the next 20 years ! Complete shambles

Dunloy & Cushendall finished level on points in their group, drew head to head - Dunloy progressed to semis on better score differential

But if and Iím not sure if itís being played or not, if the other team concedes how is it fair on the team that may have a chance?
That's the reason, why the rule was amended. So that a team cant be penalised for another team not fielding against them.
Your are right , the remaining game may be played, I presume the CCC will sort it out tonight !

Surely points difference is the first tie breaker, regardless of head to head & if you use head to head as a tie breaker, you canít separate then you go to points difference. Itís bizarre

Head to head was a draw.
Then
Score difference would be used , if all games played.
If a game involving the tied teams is conceded  it will go to a play off game

Unreal. That damages the integrity of the competition. Poor form on Gort's behalf. I'm sure Glenariffe will feel aggrieved. That said it's a great extra fixture for us neutrals. Neutral venue you'd have to assume. Cushendun possibly.

It looks like.... doesnt mean that it has been though! Just an opinion.

Interesting, but with the fixture in Turf Lodge, why wouldn't they field?

The match hasnt been refixed or listed to be refixed.
I would've thought it would be played before the last round of fixtures. It looks like it has been conceded.

Getting wind that Carey/Glenariffe are heading for a knockout game if/when Carey beat Gort Na Mona.

Assuming they finish on equal points and given they drew their fixture, it's head to head results count and not score difference.

Only fair.....unless Carey wallop Gort na Mona...

They are never going to beat them by the 25 points required.

It would be decided on score difference
But if GNM didnt field it would be a play off !

GAA Discussion / Re: Tyrone v Kerry - All-Ireland SF 2021

Kerry will be even more sick this morning but in light of Tyrone winnng the AI perhaps the over reaction to what was deemed a catastrophic performance at the time might not be viewed as bad in the cold light of day. Certainly the defeat and performance against Cork last year was a lot worse.

I also think Monaghan, Armagh, Derry and Donegal will look at Tyroneís success and think that if they can do it then they arenít too far away either especially now that Dublin have faded back into the pack.

It could be equally as hard to get out of Ulster as to win the All Ireland .
