Des O'Malley.

Sorry to hear about your loss Harold.
Des was huge in the 1980s and 90s. He was FF to the core, related to Donagh.
but he left to found the PDs and he found neoliberalism.
Later FF went neoliberal.

The PDs collapsed after 2008
FF never recovered fully either.

He was much in the news in recent times as the only surviving member of the cabinet during the Arms Crisis of 1970. He put forward his own views of Jack Lynch's actions then (and delivered his graveside eulogy), which have been disputed and much debated by others over the past number of months. Couldn't stand Haughey and his ilk, leading to his departure. As CJH himself might have said he "has done the state some service".

Finbarr Gantley   former Galway Hurler
Rip

Sorry to hear this.

My memory of Finbarr Gantley was that he was a brilliant but underrated hurler. Always seem to recall him as an impact sub on that great Galway team of the late eighties.

He was a sub in 1980.
Noel Lane was the supersub in 87 and 88.

Shane and Angel were the main two in the 90s. Not that I ever watched it like.

Sad to hear. Apparently theres been a few cast members from Home and Away that have died tragically young.

Problem for most of them is they start out as child/teen stars with a bright future, and this does not often equate to being stars as an Adult.

Leaving them feel failures in middle age
