Kerry lads have big expectations of their Diarmuid O'Connor but he's been either a bit underwhelming or injury prone so far. Is that fair to say and could he now have the maturity to step in to David Moran's boots?

I agree it was fairly good, shame so much GAA content now behind a paywall. I'm not a fan of the Examiner itself so no interest in giving them money though.
Quote from: Milltown Row2 on April 11, 2023, 09:26:01 AMNeeds to start at managers harassing 4th officials, hard to stop players when allegedly reasonable citizens see it as alright to badger and intimidate someone doing their job to gain an advantage. Them 4th officials must have no self respect at all!Quote from: RedHand88 on April 10, 2023, 11:52:58 PMQuote from: Milltown Row2 on April 10, 2023, 09:40:47 PM
The only way to stop players shouting at officials is to red card them, will automatically stop it
He wasn't shouting though. He was complaining. I dont want to follow an overly sanitised sport where yapping about decisions automatically removes you from the field of play.
If you prefer players circling around the ref at all the decisions he makes, then fine, personally I wouldn't be standing for it, not sure how that is sanitising the sport, more like removing disrespectful idiots. It's not passion

Liverpool never looked like they'd real belief they'd make a game of it. That was like a pre-season friendly. No intensity.
There's a bit of mental baggage with Madrid at this point. The lack of intensity, like so many games this season, was throughout the team. Again for their goal there was a lack of sharpness in closing down the initial pass and VVD didn't react quickly enough to get the ball away from Jnr.

D'y'ever see Rian O'Neill's frees?
He makes the ref think he's going to run back towards the point of the free, with his back turned to the goals. Then when he goes to move, he simply turns and faces the goal and makes up a couple of more yards before striking. I'd say he makes 5 yards every time. Hurson fell for it every time last week. Same again this week.
Armagh should be deducted points.
Quote from: onefineday on February 04, 2023, 09:32:49 AMAgree with this plus Crokes silence since the day speaks volumes IMO. Robbie Brennan usually has plenty to say in the media but the club also has circled the wagons. Brilliant club but this whole saga stains their reputation a bit unfortunately. Glen ran out of road when Crokes counter objected and refused to take part in a replay. Must leave a real incomplete feeling to the Derry champion's season.Quote from: gallsman on February 03, 2023, 10:30:07 PMQuote from: Franko on February 03, 2023, 08:36:48 PM
Kilmacud get to keep their cup
With a sizeable enough asterisk beside it. I'm sure in time it will be forgotten about but it'll definitely be tarnished I'm the eyes of many for years to come.
KC have to ask themselves serious questions around this whole season. From the moment their football committee sanctioned the short term signing of one of the games marquee forwards, they were putting a spotlight on themselves. I'd certainly question why a club with 5,000 members and a catchment area of probably 100,000 would feel the need to take a decision that ultimately denied a homegrown player who'd been with them since academy days a chance to win an all Ireland club. What message does that send to the kids in the underage ranks?
As a club they're a shining example, I appreciate that the population they serve isn't their fault and it's to their credit that they provide playing opportunities for the thousands of kids that currently do, but their senior football management and committee really should take a look at their approach and see if it was in keeping with the wishes of their membership and community.
Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on January 22, 2023, 03:57:14 PMWarlock took a step left, Crokes player just met him full on. I thought a Glen free. Seems a sin now in football to not come out of a tackle clean sorta promotes handpassing.Quote from: clarshack on January 22, 2023, 03:55:45 PMFor what? Was that really charging? Glen blowing this a bit.
Thought it should have been a free in to Glen.
Quote from: J70 on December 28, 2022, 08:59:31 PMThat's a cracking excerpt from the book, will have to get it. Spent a summer during mid 90s in Glenties area and his legend was real with stories of late nights etc. Think his brother had the Limelight at that stage with him working there or the pub next door? He was a fine fine player in his prime.
Haven't got hold of it yet, but it looks decent, and honest, from this excerpt about the aftermath of 1992 and his retirement:

And when taken to task, he wraps himself in victim hood garb. 'why pick on me?' 'since when do I need permission to post? Your like the old Boy at the bar listening to some debate at another table, "you have little to bother yous", only you go on to a discussion forum to do it lol. I find it truly bizarre behaviour , its not like the things poster's discuss here consume their daily lives and thoughts ffs. Well maybe the football threads.....
Why does anyone care about someone wearing a poppy? Definitely more things to worry about, but I suppose it's November and the outrage is real!!
Lost count of the amount of times I've seen him do this
Extremely weird behaviour
It's ok to have a different opinion. Not one person gave off about Craig Doyle not wearing a poppy, there are plenty that don't wear them, anyone that does wear a poppy wears it because they want to.
As for the abuse McClean gets it's wrong
Didn't realise you needed permission to post on the threads though
Let's face it , the reason McClean has got abuse for 11 years now (and not just around Poppy time) is all down to the English FA. This poppy on shirts thing , there is no need for it whatsoever. If they want to have a minute silence on the date , then do so, I'm sure every player would stand for that.
The fa let McClean take flak for years before they even said anything and even then it was half arsed statement. They allowed that abuse to fester and grow without any condemnation. Disgusting.
