Well... Offaly hurling was at its lowest ebb at that time, and Offaly certainly would have been ranked below Laois. I think the ease with which R/E won that game was a fair reflection of that fact.

Great win for CB tonight. Aside from the old reliables, one lad that really impressed was Killian Dunne when he came on. Rapparees sort of fell to pieces in the last quarter, though.

Trumera will have their work cut out for them against Maynooth. They are really a kildare senior team,  back to back intermediate for them over Naas. The promotion to senior is stupid in kildare,  they got caught in promotion game a few days after celebrating 2020 win. Tadgh Forde, cathal mccabe  and David Qualter are the main men to be minding.

That game was postponed for some reason.

Um? Not been paying attention? Do 100 lines - "the hurlers were NOT relegated in 2021"!

Hopefully C/B go on now and give the Leinster championship a good go as I think they are a well balanced outfit. They would have been disappointed not to get the chance to represent Laois in 2020, so fair play to them for coming back and winning it again. They showed massive guts to come out on top of the last two games against R/E and B/K where their backs were against the wall.

I believe they face Rapparees of Wexford in the opening round. Can't say I know a lot about them but they had a big win in their own county final so I'd imagine they're decent and C/B will have to be at their best.

Laois clubs are due a good run in the Leinster championship. There has not been much to cheer about in it over the last number of years so hopefully CB can curve that in a few weeks. It wont be easy though as Rapparees are a very good outfit!

I think they're quietly confident, which is certainly a good start. But then, winning two county titles in a few months would give you a certain swagger!

And yet all their playing lives they’ve been registered as Mountrath players

No, that's not quite true. However, I know what you mean - they certainly have been for the last few years.

On top of that, Trumera are developing a knack of attracting players that aren't quite 'theirs'.

Well, as you know, the county board often gets things wrong. St Paul's entered no team at u15, and played w/ RPG - and Trumera played with Mountrath.

Really

here’s one then for you how many registered Trumera players played with mountrath  at u15 this year?

Don’t need names

just the number

There's at least two what I'd consider Trumera players. Don't know who they're registered with, to be honest.

They had 2 lads with mountrath at 15,they had the majority in with RPG

I know they are a small club and they are doing their best by any means to survive but maybe if they went in for a medium term amalgamation and bring all their players to the one club,it would be cleaner

Mountrath seems the logical choice,I know 7/8 of the Trumera lads that won the intermediate this year, all got their juvenile hiring education in mountrath.

What are you on about? No Trumera lads played u15 for RPG this year. Can you name one?
Trumera USED to have players w/ RPG, but that all stopped 3 or 4 years ago when they went to Mountrath. This year's u20 arrangement is the only RPG team Trumera have involvement in for a couple of years.

some of the Trumera lads were in with RPG at 15 and 17 this year,

some were also definitely in with mountrath at 15 as well, their best forward is a son of a well known Trumera stalwart.

But they definitely aren't in with RPG at 20

Trumera are with RPG at u20 only.
No Trumera players with RPG at u15 or u17 this year.

hurling needs to ditch provincials more than football or  have them as pre season when galway and antrim can play in leinster it makes mockery of provincial anyway.

The point is McAvoy is happy to sit back and watch hurling die and give little or no help.

The point was that McAvoy had happily let Ulster Championships die, and then cited their demise as a reason for opposing the football proposal!

Exactly what you mention happened this year, underage, in my own county. So, nothing unique. I actually think that sort of thing is more reprehensible than a brawl.

Obviously it's not good, but I have seen far worse - plenty of times. I suppose it's got all the attention because it was at an u15 game?

The PRT amalgamation is on shaky ground, and what Clonadmad says about footballers not playing the hurling relegation final is true. Part of the problem is that they're in the same football championship, I suppose.
