In wednesday's Irish News Benny Tierney says that Cross are better than Kerry. :)

No wonder then that he is regarded as a clown!

Glad you say that BCB but thats not how the Crossmaglen supporters felt in 07 when you beat us in Mullingar. Any supporters (Cross) i talked to after that match were very condescending, comments like wondering why they came down, they should have waited for the final to travel , how it was easy, wondering how we got out of Roscommon never mind connaught and slagging of a number of our players. It wasn't even like you walked that game you only won by a goal. It left a very sour taste and i am delighted that we have a chance now to play you in the Final.

May the best team on the day win and hopefully it will be Brigids.

That is not usual as while we have our quota of gobshites, the majority of Cross people are respectful of the opposition.  the other thing too is that there is a different approach with this team than before, a bit of a re-birthing if you may, and there is a back to basics approach which has paid dividends.  I would hate to think that what you describe is what people think of Cross because the people within the club, involved in teams etc, are not like that at all.

You have plkenty of them alright. You have the most arrogant unsporting supporters in Ireland.

Yes, the new Casement Park will be an impressive stadium for the GAA in the north but unfortunately will be another GAA white elephant to go along with all the other white elephants throughout the country and will be a constant financial strain to sustain it. It will never be full to capacity unless at a concert and will be an embarrassment at Antrim games as the customary 500 trek in, half of whom are on complimentary tickets.

Surely a smaller more compact stadium would have been more suitable with the remainder of the funding given to clubs to improve their facilities where they could be used constantly and not once a year.

The Sigerson Council produced a magnificent programme for the competition. I wonder could somebody count the number of players from each county involved over the series. Obviously UCC had a lot of Cork and Kerry players but there appeared to a massive number of Laois, Dublin and Kildare players involved. Bound to be some boost for those counties going forward.

I took Thursday and Friday off work and rolled back the years to watch the Sigerson weekend. I have rarely enjoyed anything as much in recent years. The football was brilliant except the final and the young talent on view was superb. UCC deserved to win over all.
I even found myself supporting the Poly, they played some very good football in the quarter final and semi final but Cork were just too powerful for them in the final. The Poly team looked a lot lighter than the other colleges there and they wouldn't have had the big names of some of the other colleges. But,anyway, I enjoyed it all and might just book off next year as well.
Great to see the Sigerson Master there Sean O'Neill, looking as hale and hearty as ever.

I'll tell you what you nordys know how to do it alright.
Stronghold, for a man who claimed to have gone to Queen's you are fierce uptight about your beloved polytechnic when someone adds a joke to the page. You sound like a man who has an inferiority complex who is obssesed with Queen's! No-one even mentioned Queen's till you nearly broke into tears about them.

Let young lads pick the college they want, let them gain entry on merit and let them get an education first and football second.

If you are an example of the product from Sligo IT, I doubt very much if there will be many students rushing to enter there, but then of course you have probably graduated as a plumber or a joiner, don't think you would have the ability to be an electician.

Now shut up.

Every single College has sports scholarships awarded by the College, the GAA and the GPA. One of the biggest currently are Maynooth and DCU but remember IT's can all play apprentices

Is that true? EVERY college has scholarships? I really don't think that's the case. When I say scholarships I mean the kind where they reduce points to get fellas in, usually fellas who have nowhere near the points asked. As far as I am aware DCU, DIT and UUJ do this which is very unfair. I was involved in IT Sligo and we had nothing like this.

FFS, when I was at Queen's Sligi IT were the biggest cheats in the sigerson cup, sure you had boys playing who werent even at your college and that is not even counting your carpenters and bricklayers. It was your college and the other ITs that caused all the problems.

Omagh unsuccessful with their u21 appeal. Eglish awarded u21 title. A terrible end to a competition made worthless this year.

Surely, it is totally hypocritical of the Tyrone County Board to include a Derrylaughan player in all their McKenna Cup after they had given him a substantial suspension for his part in the riot with Omagh in the U21s.

Is this not sending out the wrong message?

Would have been nice to have seen some experimentation in the half back line for the game on Sunday as thats an area that probably needs some new blood.

Good to see Gervin get a run at wing forward.

Will he still be there after the U21 investigation?

Fair play to Sludden. He appears to be one of the few players who haven't been influenced [inbtimidated] by Crossmaglen.
