The poverty stricken indebted Government of ours will sooner or later be bailed out by the EU due to our memebership of the €.

Who do you think has been buying our bonds?

I did say SOONER or later ..... ;)

We will then have to do whatever they tell us re taxes, spending, obeying EU Central Bank requirements etc.
What a terrible pity we wouldnt be as energetic in trying to develop our own resources  and try and make an economy ( like Dutch/Belgians/Danes etc as we are at going around trying to bribe every multinational in the world( U.S really) to set up an office here to run their profits through on paper and the panicing any time the EU mentions Corporation Tax.
As the old stereotype goes ...if the Dutch had Ireland they'd feed the world while if we had Holland we'd all have drowned years ago.

Can any of the Rossies (I'm fairly sure this is the first thread most of ye check ;)) give us an idea of what people think of Kearney in Castlerea and beyond??

He's doing a damn good job at Castlerea seems to bring out the best in players for a club team he has them well drilled & organised something that Mayo badly need, he certainly would be worth a try but a huge step up for him

Mind you he's done it by having them play a lot of anti football  :(
Hopefully the men from the Orchard will put an end to them on unday .....but with Brianeen gone to Oz I don't expect they will.
As for the Rhubarbs manager hunt ...... it certainly uts our boloxology in 2005 in the hapenny place  ;D ;D
An old comrades act of Maughtan and Carr is the obvious solution  :D

Geography lesson ...
There are 2 big Islands off the West or North West of Europe .
One is called Britain or Great Britain. The other one is called Ireland.

The GAA has been ran by a fcukin Munster mafia since time immemorial.
Most GAA politicians need Tipp/Cork and Limerick to back them so they pander to everything or anything that would make them happy.
Absolutely disgraceful decision as so regularly happens when it comes to making fixtures and no thought whatsoever for Galway hurling supporters once again.

Taithníonn sé go mór liom go bhfuil an tráchtaireacht ar na Cluichí Ceannais Mionúir i nGaeilge.
Ach cén fáth nach mbíonn Tráchtaire Connachtach agus Ultach gach tríú bliain?
Ceapann a lán daoine gur Gaeilge na Mumhan an t-aon saghas Gaeilge atá sa tír mar sin an las a cloiseann siad an t-am go léir ar RTE.

Aontaím leat Rossfan, má tá Gaeilge Chonnachta uait, éist le Seán Bán Breathnach ar Raidio na Gaeltachta. Ba mhaith liom tuiscint Gaeilge Ultach chomh maith, ach ní dóigh liom go mbeidh mé ábalta.

Plaidhc ceart Gaillimheach nach bhfuil focal maith a rá faoi Ros aige. >:(
An bhfuil éinne as do chontae a bhfuil Gaeilge ó dúchas aige/aici a mbeach in ann tráctaracht a dhéanamh?
Tá Gaeilge Mhaigh Eo an cosúl leis an saghas Gaeilge a mhúinter dúinne sa mbunscoil.

Down has already won. All the free staters who sold out their fellow irishmen and women and who cant live with the shame of it are all just clutching at straws.

Snoopdog you are in the midst off traitors who hate everything from the north Irish. There is more supporters of Manchester United and Tony Blair in the south than Down.

Why am I starting to veer towards wantin Cork to win I wonder  ::)
And we still have 2 more weeks of this shite  to go .

Hurling Discussion / Re: Shinty
September 04, 2010, 09:07:57 PM
Spotted this while nosing around.
Hope they enjoy the trip and their day in Croke Park.

Glasgow Select International Shinty/Hurling Tour
Shinty players from Meadowburn Primary School (PS), Bishopbriggs (comprimising Gaelic speakers) and St Joseph's PS, Milngavie, supported by Meadowburn Shinty Club and Milngavie and Bearsden Shinty Club are travelling to Northern Ireland to play in a combined rules Shinty/Hurling International match on Saturday 4th September.

Their opponents are a Northern Irish Select hurling team made up of children from Edenbrooke PS and Glenwood PS from the Shankhill Road and St Paul's PS and St Kevin's PS from the Falls Road in Belfast.

The match is part of the Falls-Shankhill Project aimed at encouraging cross community participation in Gaelic sports and challenging sectarianism.

This is a return match with Scotland winning 6 – 3 in Glasgow when the Northern Irish visited in June.

The players and coaches have also been invited to attend the All Ireland Hurling final at Croke Park, Dublin as guests of the GAA.

It was nearly gone out of existence till  the Unionist Govt and their RUC/B Specials/Orange mobs showed their Nationalist neighbours what they thought of their demands for civil rights/fair play.
So Myles me boy it was things that happned in the 6 Cos that gave rise to the "new" Provo IRA.
Methinks there's a bit of spud in your family tree too  :D
Indeed. Republicans used the civil strife that occurred at that time as the platform from which to relaunch their campaign against the British, but this wasn't anything new. It had exactly the same rationale as the border campaigns of the 40's and 50's. The violence in the north provided republicans with the opportunity, not the motive.

"Civil strife" is a nice neutral word for the reactionary violence of the Orange mobs/B Specials and RUC who tried to make the Croppies lie down. When Nationalist people saw that the peaceful protest method wasnt working and was met with disgraceful violence it ddnt take much to convince them that the only thing the establishment could understand was what the Provos had to offer .
What's it like living in the 19th century?

There was me thinking 1968/69/70 were in the 20th Century.
::) ::)
Anyway Myles your fellow travellers( Unionists) are mainly living in the 17th Century .
